Welcome back EJ. Nice capture! He / she is walking & flapping at the same time ... it's always so neat watching them just before take-off. I like the background too. Very well done.
I'm glad you made it back E.J. i was about to load up my gear and go hunt for ya. A great shot from the bin, i bet there's a lot of goodies in there. Good job.
The title reminds me of the old Walking Eagle story SK. I think that is why it is the first thing they do during lift off. This was much too spectacular for the bin. Glad it escaped.
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

E.J., when I saw your title only, I had the intention to call the 'Weight Watchers' organisation, but after reading your narrative know it had to deal with some other 'take off' problems, lol.
Very fine image to me again. Don't understand why it was in the bin.
Regards, Cornelius.
even needing to lose a few ounzes, he is still as gracefull as ever. Beautiful capture and a stunner inmy book. Still trying for my "In-flight", just hasn't happened yet. I think I need to adjust the scope on my Nikon....I'm shooting to far behind..LOL.
This is from your bin?? It's another lovely portrait, and it does look like the bird is having trouble with liftoff, probably because of too much ballast... ;-))
