This old ruin of the San Galgano Abbey is link to the Sword in the stone, found by chance near the ruins and currently stored into a museum close to Siena The name Galgano makes thinking to St. Gawain as alliteration. In a nutshell a place full of mysteries. Enjoy

Thought I was looking at the Cathedral at Elgin there for a second. Sword and the stone...you have my attention now. I've always loved the mystery behind the legend.

This is a great composition Ed!...good use of the camera angle...it does away with the usual 'Rule of Thirds' and work perfect!..

Good post for the present contest!..

Shame to see this ruined structure. Having said that, I like your lines of perspective in this image, leading my eye to that relaxing round window.

I love the way the stone has been carved in the architecture. Like taking a step back in time. Were these stones hand-carved? A very unique shot!
