a very pretty view, unfortunately i didnt take any shots right down to f/22 so the background isnt quite sharp, and maybe the contrast is too high, but tell me what you think

Very good wintery scene. Excellent capture with all in good focus to my eyes. Great frame created by the foreground brush and trees.

What a lovely winter image....I love the crisp focus of the foreground which is emphasised by the slight blurring of the distant trees. The contrast looks fine to me....a very nice picture....well done.

Definitly a good shot. I agree with what you said in the comment. I think it would be better if the background was sharper, but im no completly sure i would have noticed it if you didn't mention it. Also the contrast, i think you might be right about aswell. I would need to see one with less contrast to truly judge i think. This one seems to have a bit of that plasticy feel to it. The compostion is perfect though. It looks really good.

(i think i see a dust spot:P, but it might just be a branch or something)

Wow Carl, this is truly a Winter Wonderland image! I like the dreaminess of the background. It goes very nicely with the sharpness of the foreground. I love the darker forsted branches hanging down at the top of the image. The other tree branches have provided a lovely frame for us to view thru :).....I like the lighting. It seems to play off the snowy branches like diamonds! Very well done. Thanks :~)

Hi Carl, I think the contrast is perfect as well as the angle!!!! It does seem just a tad out of focus...but a beautiful scene...none the less. thanks for posting it.

This winter scenery is breathtaking. I have the feeling that the original would be good enough though. There is something about the photo which disturbs me a little: it may be the contrast. I guess it additionally distracts my attention, the photo itself is very complex, with different textures, different details and a very rich natural framing. I guess it is already enough to study it for a long time. But I give it very high marks anyway.

Beautiful winter scene. The slightly out of focus background gives the image just enough depth. The framing and contrast are perfect. Very, very nice.

This is truly wonderful. I love the contrasts between the snowcapped foliage and the water. Plus the light reflecting on the water itself adds lovely highlights.

Beautiful! A great photo of winter wonderland!
And as for your own remarks, it would have been perfect if you just underexposed a bit. The sky would have a richer and deeper blue color and the contrast would be easier on the eyes. But it is still a great shot!

I love how you have framed the landscape behind. Very well composed, I don't think the contrast is too high at all. I love the branches at the top of the frame, the detail you have caught there is beautiful!
