On this particular piece, I took a fractal, made all the black areas transparent, copied it, pasted it into a new layer, rotated it 15 degrees, applied a bevel and drop shadow, and repeated the process 12 more times. Then I inverted it, darkened and desaturated the outside to bring out the inside. This one pushed my poor computer to its limits, but I think it turned out well. Let me know what you think.

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile. Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

After reading thecomment on the work you did Nathan, I had to rest before I viewed the image! lol...what a stunning piece of work this is and and even more stunning of a desktop. Not knowing the work that goes into fractal-making, I can only tell you I like the colors, the quality, the clarity and the beauty that I see. Thanks :))

Now this is a marvelous fractal image. I'm not a big fan of fractals but I like this one very much. Great job and a 10 from me.

Hi Nathan, this is truly extraordinary!! I don't understand this kind of work, but, of one thing I am sure Nathan, I recognize talent when it is present, and it sure is here. I am giving you a big 10, you earned it! Sincerely, Marilyn

Must be rather boring at times, no? Actually, it would be less boring in Gimp because it would crash, so maybe boring isn't so bad. (Hoping they fix this in the new release: rotating through an arbitrary angle is a very fragile operation, apparently...) Lovely results, though. I especially like the outside.
