These lovely hills can change moods in a matter of minutes. I think it is one of the reasons it keeps drawing me back year after year. The closest place to stay is the small town of Mitchell Oregon. There is an old Hotel there that dates to the later 1800s and has been renovated to as close to the original as possible. It in and of itself is a worthy destination. The town may be (less than 200) small but makes up for it with a very large heart.

This is a truly beautiful image, all the more so because the sense of scale is so deceptive.

Thats a great shot. It really gives a sense of space, and captures the shear size of the hills. By the way the hotel sounds interesting. Any shots of that?

What an excellent capture! Those banded hills are just amazing and the composition is great - it looks just as the title says.

I went there for the first time this summer. You are so correct about the mood changing. The sun really affects these gorgeous mountains. Great picture. Much better than any I got. It was pretty cloudy the day I was there.

Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.
