Hey there Mister Madman, wat'cha know that I don't know
Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show
Glassy-eyed and laughing, he turns and walks away
Tell me what made you that way
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

I agree..this looks great. I'm so glad that Mr. Smith decided to give us that tutorial. I have yet to try it out, but he's very good at describing things. The colors are lovely and it's one of the larger jewels I have seen....you're off to a great start :)PJ
Very cool Dave, I love the jewel & those gorgeous blues ! But maybe next time, could you pull up your jewel a tad, it seems a little low for my tastes. In my opinion, something that pretty deserves to be seen better.
It has a dark, mysterious quality, and yet it seems so crystal clear in the jewel. I am very impressed, as so far this "jewel" effect is out of my reach! Can't wait to see your next images.
Ok, I have benefit of having come across a reply from you, with regards to a comment above ... I would really like to see the piece with the other jewels that got lost in translation.
Great colour palette ... nice ... nice design work with the lightning. Excellent idea and concept incorporating that element.
This is done well Dave. I sincerely hope you upload the 'full version.' Still ... this is quite strong visually ... just want more. :o)
Im not a big fan of the whole orb thing in general but in this case, Wow, that is really good i like the lightning and the choice of colour is perfect.
well done my friend, must check that tut out myself,
I didn't expect to like this much from the thumbnail, but the full view is an image that is really growing on me (and very quickly, too). Nice work.
I'm really looking forward to the next major Gimp release as I believe it is going to feature something like the styles in Photoshop and maybe some other twiddles from that, too. Might even try a beta release, but I'm put off by the need to compile a bunch of updated prerequisites. A new stable will push me to do it, but otherwise... procrastination is something requiring practice to perfect.
