Excellent photograph selection and manipulation! I like how the color is so limited. It looks so intense, yet it seems anything but beyond hope. I would prefer if it was sharper; I am assuming you used a grainy distorting filter? With these types of images, precision is key. I give it a 10 and into the favorites it goes regardless. :-)
Hehe, glad you like it. The main reason I grained it is because if you look at the middle it seems clearer than the rest of the image. Kind of meant to bring the viewer into a "mezmerized" type of feel. Understood though! Thanks =D

Is that a window and is it the main light source? I was trying a few (okay, several hundred) shots like this myself, but I am having trouble getting the lighting to look right. In all the shots I was doing, there was either some strong glare in the eye or the face wasn't lit enough to see the eye, but then again, all of my shots were on, not at an angle. I imagine verticle angles wouldn't work too well because the eyelid likes to follow the direction of the pupil. Do you have any pointers?
I'd suggest starting from a long angled shot and zoom in until you're satisfied with lighting and position. Zooming in (assuming you have good quality at high zoom) should eliminate any problems you have with relflection/glare of the camera in the eye. I'd suggest not using flash and some external light source that you can setup, otherwise you'll get too much or not enough reflection/light. Oh, and I'm sure you would already think of this, but make sure you have it set on macro.
to me, it looks like when you just realize that something happened, or like when time slows down when you see something fragile dropping, plus the colors look awesome...great job =)
