My take on White Sands Nat'l Monument in New Mexico. Incredible place, really looks like a few billion metric tons of permanent snow fell on the place. Unlike most desert areas, here the water table lies only a few feet below the surface so most of the sand is very damp. Creating a 'white' sand while still maintaining contrast and visual appeal proved challenging. Thanks for looking!

Nice.

Really like how you composed your piece here.

The line of the top of the dunes.. and how it demarcates the shadowed area below and within frame

And..

But, of course.. thanks for sharing your creativity with us.

Really nice work.

(p.s. For your consideration.. current contest running now; The Four Elements.. once your image is approved (as it now has been) should appear in the drop-down menu ("Enter the contest") for submission as an entry to the contest. Best of luck, should you decide to enter.)

Kalen, You've come up with an intriguing and beautiful photo in this one. The contrast between the sand and sky is amazing. Very nice work.

I like the sweeping grandeur of this, the sense of place in a real world. Excellent composition and framing give it an epic quality. The top of the dunes also form a sine wave that draw the viewer deeper into the picture, like a path that must be followed, to it's end. A good thing to have in any landscape, real or imagined. From someone who's faked a few landscapes of his own, this rocks.

I am going to clean out my Caedes portfolio a bit per-caedes input system. If you see an image you like and it is not on here give me a holler.
