Having experienced these heather coloured highlands, I am already looking forward to my summer holidays in Scotland this year...The picture was taken about 4 miles south of Braemar...Please enjoy,
I am sure no one could fail to enjoy this Mick.

Wonderful work.
This is now on my hard drive...and I must say that whenever I've read about heather in books this is the color that has come to mind..either that or sometimes I mix up the color of lavender..lol...This presentation is dramatic and bold and it's one of my favorites of heather so far. Hope you have a wonderful summer in Scotland and get to take lots and lots of pictures, Mick :)
LynEve has described perfectly what I feel upon gazing at your images, Mick. Love the light on this and the rich colors. Great ambience and outstanding capture. :)
You are such a master at lighting, Mick. This may be my favorite among many favorites you have done. Beyond excellent, beyond stunning. I am at a loss for adjectives. - Donna
I almost didn't put this one at full screen because it seemed very gloomy. Am I glad I looked more closely at it! Yowzah!! Where to start? Wonderful wonderful sky, and on full screen the light and the bright clouds become a message of hope. The fence is just perfect and totally makes this picture. The red heather? Stunning, but in this pic of clouds and sky and faint mountains and defining fence, the heather is not the star of the show, but rather the perfect accomplice.

Magnificient Mick ... color, lighting ... and above all the composition here set me back in my chair. As mentioned above the fence disappearing behind the heather bringing the eyes to the hills rising upward left and right ... just brilliant my friend ... Brilliant!
Simply beautiful image, certainly on my list of places to vist (someday.. hehe). Certainly captures the magic of the land, that draws my attemtion there.
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

I'm 18 and don't travel much. But I tend to bring my camera around just to catch what sticks out from my everyday goings. (pardon me if I speak my mind)

Such awe-inspiring beauty, Mick! It has a surreal feel to it, and that of a painting. I love rich colours that grab your attention and make you smile :) Wonderful lighting as well. Outstanding work! It now graces my DT....Thanks Mick :)
Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.
