This Cream Spot ladybird looked pretty on the new holly leaves, but I couldn't get her to turn around.... Whitleigh Wood, Plymouth, 15th August 2004. 1/60th sec @ f6.3, fill-in flash in poor light.
Well, not everybody considers themselves photogenic. :-) Great job, I love the way the green contrasts the black. They leaves look wet, is that just how the plant is?

Yeah its almost like the leaves have a waxy coating over them...like you buffered them before taking the pic...yeah taking nature photos your have to be extremely patient and wait for the ideal moment to snap the photo. Good job though...:)
Picturing you trying to coax her. ;)- Again, great subject, wonderful clarity and pop out color. Prefer nature's own "waxing" to what they do in the fruit aisle at the grocery.
Thank you all :-) The leaves are indeed naturally waxy when they're new like this, and no buffing was required. And while patience isn't easy at the best of times it's pretty impossible with two border collies going "come ON!!!" I appreciate your interest :-)
Great shot of this unusual ladybird...never seen one like this before. The leaves are amazing. Love the shine and the bright green color. My compliments.
