Formic acid? That is so wild how so many critters develop survival techniques that would seldom occur to the so-called intelligent species on the planet. Beautiful blue feathers but I expected more when I saw the title in the Friends list... here in the U.S. that color and detail virtually covers the North American jay.

Beautiful bird, and I like that intent gaze. I have no idea how to take close-ups of birds, so I always marvel, especially at the clear, well-posed and well-composed ones like this!
