My entry for Silhouette. In the 1870s salmon fishing on the Columbia river was booming. With all of this new product coming out of the river and with the advent of the fish wheel, there had to be a way to pack and ship before the Salmon would spoil. Canneries popped up everywhere to deal with this problem. they would can the fish or pack it in a barrel with salt to preserve it. This is what is left of those old day canneries. Just some old piles in the water waiting for time to wash away all evidence that they were ever there.

Nature eventually claims it all Paul. All except the man-made stuff that it can't digest. This is really a good contest entry. I wish you well.

I knew this was yours when I looked in the contest gallery before I even looked to see who it was. I love it! Such gorgeous colors and I love those ghostly posts left over from busy days long gone. Good luck in the contest!

I got this in the VB and actually forgot to tell you how much I loved this. Of course I would, who wouldn't love one of the sunsets here in the Pacific Northwest?!! You for sure captured those rich fiery colours, and with the silhouettes, it's fantastic. Congrats Paul..>Verena
