The Zeeland farmers have held on September 3rd, 2016 the yearly ploughing competition.

The event took place on the peninsula South-Beveland, The Netherlands.

One could see ploughing with two or three draft horses together ('Folklore Ploughing'), and ploughing with old ('Folklore Ploughing' too), and new tractors.

On this occasion, I've captured 'Folklore Ploughing with two draft horses' in B&W.

It's my weekly entry for the Wednesday B&W challenge.

This sort of ploughing still goes on in many third world countries using buffaloes or bulls. Good one in b/w for the challenge Cornelius.

Very well done in b/w, that looks like a real job plowing through fresh sod. Nice one for the challenge.

A great one for the challenge Mr. C. - looks like a scene from a long ago time only with crisp sharp digital details.

Its lovely to see the old traditions being kept alive, and what a way to do this by having these ploughing competitions. This is a great B/W image and captures this tradition perfectly, and tastefully framed too. Well done Cornelius!

A very nostalgic image Cornelius and so good to see the old ways being practiced and not lost to technology.
Will add to the BWC now, thank you

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Makes a fabulous Challenge - looks wonderful in B/W - he sure takes pride in his horses by the way he's groomed their tails so well with the blunt cut
