At 1450 miles (2334 km) it is the fourth longest river in the United States. Its origin is in the Colorado Rockies. This is still a young river as it passes through Poncha Springs. This is the place to do some white water rafting., while enjoying the view. About 15 miles (23 Kilometers) down river is the beginning of some of the best trout fishing in the state

Since I'm the first to comment!! Yayyyy! How could ONE scene be anymore beautiful then the next I wonder sometimes. THere is SOOOO much beauty all around us and you are so fortunate to capture it gently like this Robert!! The colours never cease to amaze me. And I can feel myself sitting on a log listening to the sounds of the silence aNd the softness of the water, maybe even a few bird trills and feel the slight breeze on a crisp Autumn day. The curve of the river and the sharp lines of the mountains meeting like that...and then the "touch" of that sky..what more could anyone wish for..well, except for the TROUT...I remember how wonderful the Rainbow Trout tasted when I lived in the Black Hills of South Dakota....a breakfast of the trout cooked on an open fire and maybe some flapjacks!! oh yes indeed!!!(finding some berries somewhere too ..yummm) Thanx Robert for a walk like this.....bigtime hugs go to you today...V

Hi Bob
Again like Pat sais a shot which takes us on an adventuretrip in that landscape.
Like the ones you showed before, this one too makes me wanted to catch a plane right now and go there.
Off course I saw picture is books and on tv of that landscape and allways thought they manipulated those images.
Yours make me believe paradise over there is for real.
thanks for making me a believer.

Beautiful place and talented author who managed to capture the atmosphere of the moment and the vivid golden foliage. There are so many things to concentrate on... the river, the golden trees reflecting the sun, the mountain tops in the background. Your image will be definitely on my desktop for at least a couple of days. Thank you very much.

Old friends, they mean much more to me than a new friend, cause they know where you are and they know where you been?

So perfect, that it looks like unreal (or more precisely like a painting).I really want to repeat Verena's Yayyyyy! The colours are gorgeous, the composition is rich, but far away from ornate... Good job!

Wow, that is outstanding. I love the brilliance of the dry looking trees against the cold blue sky. it reminds me of white water rafting and the dark color of the mountains reminds me of the south of Bolivia. Beautiful shot!

This is so surreal. Even though Canada has its beauty, where I am the air is never ever that clear and clean. It's beautiful! The whole place just looks magical! Quiet
