Little Red Mountain was the richest mine in Colorado. It produced gold and silver from 1870 to 1980. The richest mine in the area was Little Annie, with a ribbon of ore 17 feet wide, (5.15 meters) that assayed from $80 to $2,000 a ton. Sadly it was not Cameraannie's although I refer to her as My Little Annie. AT one time the Ghost town of Summitville had a population of 600. It had five saloons and a 112 stamping machine in their foundry. All came to an end in 1980 due to water runoff carrying Cyanide and other toxic chemicals that contaminated the Alamosa river for a 25 mile stretch.

Look at the cobalt water of that lake !! Your whole image is simply breathtaking. Crystal clear. And I want to thank you for the small lesson in local history, I appreciate it.

I think I see what appears to be a large radius unsharp mask effect between the trees and sky. If so then you might want to tone that down a bit.

I think what I really like about this is the curves you have used in the photo..theone of the grasssy hill against the blue water...then the curve of the tops of the trees against that beautiful pinkish mountain...all that plus the way you "framed" the photo with the tall trees on either side...a wonderfully thought out and of course picturesque photo RObert..very very lovely...

I really like the depth in this. Color is great. well done on the capture.

I think I see what Geri is seeing also. I agree if that is what it is you might want to step down a little on the unmask filter.

Nice colors and nice balance. If you have not mentioned the details behind the mountain it sure will look very unnatural :)

Awsome capture Robert. The contrast between the forests and the sunlit slope is superb. By the way it looks as if the mountain slope was painted with water colours. Great visiual delight. Thank you so much.

I like the depth that the trees create, that tree you caught on the left works perfectly into your composition. I like the balance between earth and sky. That blue gradient in the sky is gorgeous. It is very clean great composition. 10/10 into my favz1

Annie and I invite you to visit our website. Photography is not a trade - it is an art. It is more that an art. It is a solar phenomenon, where the artist collaborates with the sun. deLamartine 1855
