I fully agree with Jim, the color version has a warmth which gives it much more power. By the way you have used a great DOF and also the composition is perfect.
I'm a big fan of B & W, but this one appeals to me more. The warm colors of the reed topped with snow really makes this one pop. Wonderful work Gerry ~ this one's going in my faves also.
The B&W's nice but I have to agree, color suits this shot much better. I like the color you chose for the frame too. Nicely done Gerry, wonderful photography :) Ya know, a thin line the same color as the reed added to the frame you already have might really set it off even more. Just a thought.

Okay Gerry, it's depending on someone's taste: your monochrome version of yesterday had its own charm but I prefer this version above your yesterday's image.

Differences of opinion. I like this one best. It is just warmer and the subject is already cold so for me that is a plus. Excellent clarity, Gerry, too.
Lyn said it all! really beautiful Gerry! I like both and as I am on my daughter's PC, I have put this on the background here and the other one is the background on my pc! :)

This is such a beautiful photo my friend!! SO delicate and lovely and just precious. I love how the snow lays on little plants like that, kind of like stroking its beauty on it.I think I would have chosen a different frame colour..maybe a deeper tone of the one you have there now..Using the same colour as the reed is itself..with a smaller white line..well, its just a suggestion OMHO...but either way I love this shot..Verena

I believe this is a slim version of Prairie Brome, with fuller heads in the summer months. It's normally found in the upper midwest and sometimes as far north as Canada. Brome is a wild prairie grass and this winter shot is a beautiful example of it.
