Captured this a few days ago and our next door neighbour have beautiful trillium's growing. He always gives me permission to come over and take pictures of his flowers. This is one of his Red Trillium.

Pat, like Kathy I've never seen a red trillium (official name Trillium erectum) in real. No wonder as I read (after checking-out the above link): "Trillium erectum is native to eastern North America. Its range extends from northern Georgia in the southeastern United States to Quebec and New Brunswick in eastern Canada, and as far west as Michigan and southern Ontario."
So your capture isn't only wonderful, but shows a to me rare flower perfectly.

What a beauty ! I much prefer the red varieties to the white. They love cold winters and can last up to 70 years.
