New Paltz, New York. While in the Abraham Hasbrouck House, the 1721 home of my ancestors that first came to the New Amsterdam colony, I was photographing the newly restored interior. These two children came by the window several times, excited that I was taking photos. They called their mother over and all smiled while looking in - as I looked out.

Wonderful picture, Thad and the clarity through the glass of mom and her two kids is also very well done.

That's an adorable portrait through the window. I love the colors and the shining paint. I lived in the area for 20 years. It's a gorgeous place and the historic homes on Huguenot St and the surrounding Kingston countryside are amazing!

Great picture. It's certainly an ingenious setting for a family shot. The backlighting adds a lot.

Cute - and it gives me the impression that it is an illusion; that the window is outside, but so too are the people.

I wonder if it is at all possible to keep windows that clean so as to take pictures through them...:)
This is an indisputable proof that it IS possible! And clarity is amazing, please admit that you wiped the window pane just before shooting....:)

This entry has a big "feel good" feel to it! while the flash balances the interior/exterior lighting very well. It would be nice to think the family could see the photograph.

Wishing you well in the contest Thad, may the best entrant win.
