Yo Bro, this is awesome. I love that you can even see the sun rays coming down through the mossy tree. I agree that you are developing your own little world, hehe.

I humbly admit that I do indeed remember the green shag carpeting and was the once proud owner of some! This reminds me of a land of the garden fairies. This has a lot of depth and color to it for the small area that it is....where are those fairies again?!? :~)
Kudo's Darryl...:))
I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings:
And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill.
That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes.
We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not.
Yet so the universe was wrought .
Thought is another name for fate.
Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.
Is this a relatively quiet area? Or do you hear tons of brids, fish and animals - it looks so untouched, almost forgotten. I am amazed by the many colors, too. Super shot. :)
Thank you for the nice comments. This is on the north side of Cowichan River, BC. There are many birds and mostly Bald Headed Eagles around this spot. It gets very little sunshine during the winter and lotsof rain. During the summer it gets more sun and a constant mist rising from the turbulent water below.
I too remember the green shag carpeting but prefer to forget it...on the other hand, this is a charming and secret land you've discovered...I do believe that gnomes may live here...great capture and thanks for sharing.:Pat.
Darryl, this is unreal. Even when I look closely, I have a hard time believing it is a photo. Not sure exactly how to comment on it, but I think it is a great shot!
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is a society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man less, but Nature more
--Lord Byron
Gosh, this is too beuatiful to be a real place!!! It reminds me of some mystical land such as Narnia or Middle Earth...Do you remember the movie Legend? The unicorn scene at the end...this is that type of place! Such a wonderful image, and a great desktop!!! Thank you!!!
i don't know what else to add ... i could so so get lost in looking at this image ... i think i will ... thanks ...
(p.s. I intentionally, put the above comments in lower case, in homage to just how superior your photo was to at least, the pronoun 'I.' Because all 'I' did was get the fortunate opportunity to view it.)
Exceptional image. The picture seems soft almost inviting, the clarity and detail shown within this image is awesom, the moss that has crawled across the old tree really sets this whole picture off. Wonderful work from you again :)
Hey, I just caught a glimpse of this in Twig's faves (thank her :P) nice glow effect on the moss. it suits it perfectly. up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light....was it four dogs playing poker? ;-)
Wow--I'm in love with this as my new desktop!! I was looking for something magical and forest-y, and this hit the spot. I love how soft it is. Absolutely amazing. :)
I know a certain planet where there is a red-faced gentleman. He has never looked at a star. He has never smelled a flower. He has never loved anyone. And all day he says, just like you, "I am busy with matters of consequence." And this makes him swell up with pride. But he is not a man, he is a mushroom.".......THE LITTLE PRINCE, Exupery
