For me this is a fine quality Black and White and a very good entry. Does not seem to lack in quality and i love how you composed this one. ♪ ♫ :)sandi♪ =^..^=
I would hope size or pixel count is not even to be taken into consideration of whether a picture is a winner or an also ran in the BW contest. When an image speaks to me, I surround it with love after re-sizing the canvas so that it fills my screen. And if I can't succeed at my task... at least I cared enough to try... like I did for this image!
I really like this shot! I was once told that sometimes our worst critic is our self. I know the feeling and think the same way about some of my photos sometimes. You have a great chance with this one in my opinion...but I really don't know how photos are judged in contests. Regardless....AWESOME capture!!! This B&W will be my first contest.....I should have mine posted this evening hopefully...Good Luck!
This is by far one of the most precious b&w photos I've seen here. I just love the feeling it gives. It's very unique. I love the angle from where you took the photo.I love seeing the little girls feet and the way she is looking down, and the way the soft dress is billowing around her. Its a fine photo. I will save it..for sure..verena
~~~~~~~Photographematis de Deus Facturae ~~~~~~~~. IF I VOTE ON YOUR IMAGE YOU WILL RECEIVE A 10/10. Why? Because every capture of life around us or artificial generation of color and lines is unique and special.
And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
Hello Emmy.....A world thats saturated with colour images,a black and white can often be more striking....This picture with it high contrast and lighting looks more graphic and distinctive and gives more of a timeless feel in B/W....Well done.....All the best to you Emmy...............Mick.
Amazing photo! For me, the use of black & white should be for an artistic, reflective photo of this nature - colour would take away from the dreamlike mood of this image. Added to my faves. Thanks for posting!
