That’s the way son, just flop them up and down as hard as you can. We will have you flying in next to no time.
F5, 1/640sec, ISO 200, 200mm, 2x converter, tripod and lots of patience.
Are these the same birds you caught being fed? Great antics, you are a patient man with a camera! The pastel blue of the sky is a nice change, too, instead of the intense colors we see in so many other photos. High marks on this one and saved to my HD!
Hi Robert, my oh my, this is so beautiful, I can not find the words. Such gorgeous creatures they are and you have mastered the art of capturing it all. The soft blue sky as background, with the lovely white of the egrets topped off with the carpeted green floor!! I offer you a big 10 and into my favs! Sincerely, Marilyn
snowy egrets are a new type of bird for me to see too. they are so majestic and beautiful. you must have tremendous patience and a cable release so you can sit at least! hehe very sharp and wonderfully taken. definately on the HD!
this shot looks so gentle and delicate.. those egrets really look magnificent on this image with a beautiful soft sky.. and the contrast between the leaves and their snowy feather increases their purity and beauty.
kudos for your will.. as one song says, all we need is just a little patience.. heh :) you got that, all right :)
great shot :) high marks from myst ;)
Now thats a winner Robert. Great action photography. I love the description you put there. I really enjoy the snowy egrets. They are great fun to photograph and you have shown their better side here. Good color, quality & clarity. Top marks & into fav;s on h/d. Thanks :))
Good morning
Your patience was well rewarded. Full screen, the first thing I noticed was that the structure of the wing on the left bird is clear, and the feathers are almost awash with the light. they are nicely positioned in the frame. Top marks.
The sky and the light were very kind to you that day. They really show off the greens and the snowy white and make the wings seem almost translucent. You got a really great shot with your patience and timing
Nice capture, Robert! These birds can be so skittish, it's great that you were able to capture them both. The lighting is definitely great in this one, wonderfully natural. Well taken!
The Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) does indeed have a black bill and legs. However these are the Little Egret (Ardea Garzetta), they are more slender with a longer neck. I was mistaken in my answer to bb :-)
this picture took my breath away. The whiteness and pureness of the birds against the blue sky, the perfect position of the birds.... I saved it for my slide show on my desktop.
Robert, I love viewing your gallery, so many choices! These beauties caught my eye. We have egrets in Louisiana too. I always enjoy seeing them. These two egrets are stunning. Excellent clarity and composition..but you know that! They are splendid caught in motion. I like their positions in the tree - seeing those long legs and gorgeous wings is a treat. It's a picture postcard! The green of the tree leaves bring all the beauty together. Now if I could only capture an image such as yours :^>
What kind are they?
