This image was taken on June 25th, 2025 in one of the outskirts of the city of Ghent, Belgium (Old Gentbrugge). The image shows a mural created by the Spanish (Galicia) artist Doa Oa and depicts a huge Clematis which is painted above a small roof garden on a corner house.

Doa Oa shows her artistry with numerous murals on the walls of streets. She brings plant life back into urban spaces. One could call this 'reforestation through murals'. With every wall she paints, she actually helps the cities breathe again. The flower Doa chose for this mural is the Clematis Armandii 'Apple Blossom' The Clematis is already 'climbing' the lower part of the wall. Because of her painting the Clematis will now bloom all year round.
