He has the abdomen of a bee but only two wings (that I can see) which would make this guy Diptera (a fly). Having admired your work for years, I hold you to a different standard, David. This shot is very good for an average photographer, but personally it's not as sharp as other fly shots you've posted. This one gets a 6.3. Much to my dismay, even you fall short of perfection on rare occasions.

This is on the side of extreme closeup. But oh so well done. Great soft color in the flowers and great details in the bee.

Love the dof and soft gentle colors. The composition is good and very eye appealing. As Dot mentions is just is a tad less sharp than most folks here come to expect.
