You may have noticed that a lot of things have suddenly broken on the website over the weekend. This is a good thing! These problems are temporary and are evidence of the changes to the caedes.net server code that I have been working on.
The caedes.net website started around the beginning of this century, and a lot of the programming code that has been running the site is showing its age. There were a lot of security issue to address, but I made efforts to keep the website functionality mostly unchanged (for now). With the updates over the weekend, we are in a much better place from a technology standpoint. I think I have worked through most of the problems, but if you continue to see an issue, please post about it here. Thank you for your patience as we build a better future for the site!

I cannot upload an image - it keeps on asking me to select a gallery which I've already done. Also I cannot change my icon - I get "internal server error"

Kathy, I'm dealing with the same problem (keeping to ask to select a gallery so that I'm not able to complete the uploading proces of my image). As I already said above, I have informed Gerald by PM about this problem.

Many thanks, Geri, for all your hard work in fixing and updating the site. Speaking for myself, I love this site, have been here many years, and I am very appreciative that you have kept it going for us. As far as I can tell, all is working perfectly now :)

Thanks for all your work Geri !! I have noticed that the comments appearing on our Gallery Page are now starting at the beginning and it takes ages to scroll through (in my case)4466 hidden messages starting in 2006 to reach any current ones! I hope there is a way to switch them back.

In the past, my items were sorted alphabetically when I selected 'Control Panel / Caedes Control' in the left column of my homepage, and then clicked on 'Image'.
I used this function to check for duplicate item names.
When I do this now, the following error message appears: "Forbidden function (Util::TableSort::cookie)".

Sometimes after I've logged in, but in any case after I've uploaded a contribution, I receive the announcement 'image approval (..)' in the leftmost column of my homepage, followed by 'jobs' .
The dots mentioned in the parentheses above represent the number of items involved.
When I click on this 'jobs' announcement, I see the thumbnails for which I am asked: 'maybe not' or 'yes'.
This is not the first time this (almost identical) list has been shown however. The list is being repeated in error. In other words: I've received already this list already multiple times. However, the number of items in the list is growing. For most items, I have therefore already repeatedly indicated 'maybe not' or 'yes'. Most items were posted days ago and have already been approved. This flaw hasn't effected the proper function of the site, but is to a certain extent annoying.

Can this be looked at please.
“ hello, I have a question for you. Are you having any problems logging into caedes? When I try, it doesn’t say I have the right password and then when I go to reset my password it says it will send it to my email a link but it never goes through to my email. Are you having any issue like this if you’re able to login is there anyway you could try to get help for me because there’s no way to reach anybody on caedes because of my problem”
Can this be looked at please.

I had the same problem as LynEve's friend. A moment ago I tried to see if deleting all cookies from Caedes.net would help. And voila, now I'm back :-)
