1st place
In The Emptiness by bfrank

heidlerr: An interesting images creation that inspired my White Devil Rising image. The moon appears to be bleeding through the foreground just a little. Try using the burn tool with low opacity and blurred brush to darken the mid tones in that area. Overall a great image that I love.

Forever Empty by LynEve

mirto56: Empty Chairs and Empty Tables - Les Miserables

A most fitting memorial and your photo does it so much justice, LE. An excellent, thought=provoking entry to the contest...

3rd place
"Beneath the Detroit Airport Runways" by icedancer

rozem061: Concratulations, Pat !
For me it is the real winner !
John

jerseygurl: Congratulations, Pat on taking 3rd place in the contest - an awesome image!!!!!!!

GomekFlorida: Wow! I'm from Detroit, and the airport was something out of a third world country for many years! You used to have to run down that ugly corridor (no moving sidewalks) about a mile to catch your flight! They really must have re-done it since I was there in 2002. Tampa International is one the best rated airports in the country BTW. :) Good luck in the contest!

4th place
Empty Seats by Jimbobedsel

biffobear: Well done on the contest....R.

icedancer: A wonderful shot of this delicate and touching site. Gorgeous sky & vastness of the crash area. Marvelous entry and Good Luck

mirto56: This image turns my thoughts back to that ever so horrible day. Your photo speaks to all who remember...and will never forget. A powerful image, so very well suited for the "Emptiness" contest, Jimbob.

5th place
Forgotten Home Life by heidlerr

bfrank: I'm not super old but I remember my childhood in such houses like this. Ours was a two story house. That was back in the day of B&W pictures. Neighbors lived farther apart then. Had The party line phones and everyone knew everyone's business. It looks well to be so old. Good one Russ.
