I love this site and everyone I've met has stimulated my artistic side in some way or another. I am embarrassed to say this, but I guess I've missed this message portion of Caedes all this time, as I have just spent the last hour and a half reading over all the kind comments and thanks from ppl to whom I have left posts on their uploads. Hey, thanks for your comment on my fireworks shot. I was shooting with a nikon D70, with the 18-70mm kit lens. I don't have the original file on my computer right now (its hidding on a disk some place) so i can't check to see the exact f/stop., but i think for that one i was using a fairly wide open one. Probably something like f/5 or so. I have done more fireworks since then and found that closing it up a bit more often works a little bit better.

Hey Ashley...I used just a plain old Nikon Coolpix S5..nothing special...no flash, pretty slow shutter speed, and a very steady hand!

The veins you might be talking about are actually some sulfur springs and streams....but the beauty of pictures is that everyone sees something different and people can get different feelings from the same image.
