"I decided that it was not wisdom that enabled [poets] to write their poetry, but a kind of instinct or inspiration, such as you find in seers and prophets who deliver all their sublime messages without knowing in the least what they mean."
--Socrates (in "Apology")
Hi Brett taken around mid august after a pretty dismal summer of floods relentless rain and storms settled down now to a pretty good late summer..Richie.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

G'day Brett,
Raindrops Resting was a case of me not having much choice, soft was the only *style* direction I could go with the raw material I had. I'm very much a "sharp" guy so I'm less than entirely satisfied with the result but I think it was the best I could expect from what I had. Thanks for dropping by and commenting mate, muchos appreciatos. :):)
Mikel.
Thanks Brett for the comments on my picture “Go’n Nuts”. I decided to have lunch in the park and just happened to have a camera in the car but no bag of nuts.
Thank you for your comment on Manini'owali Beach. I greatly appreciate your support. And, I considered cropping the garbage can out, but cropping it would have meant cropping out a large portion of the empty ocean on the left and I thought this hurt the composition.
Thanks Brett,
The Parliament is a HUGE building, a whole hill actually, it is the reason Canberra exists at all and everything is designed around it. It's not the best photo, the old parliament is over exposed, but I wanted the companion shot to the Commonwealth place right away and this was the best I could find.
Mikel.
thanks for commenting on 'vatican detail'. you can take pictures in the vatican, i think its just the sistine chapel that they don't like photos taken (in the same area, but different buildings)
G'day Brett,
Glad you liked the Wattlefrost. I'm still working out the macro functions on my camera and still trying to work out the depth of field issues in macro, which seems to me to be the key to getting the best macro shots, controlling what's in focus and what's not, precisely. I'm not on top of it yet but every now and then one turns out ok. :)
Mikel.
Hello, just browsing through your gallery, and it's a nice one indeed. Great clarity in all of your images and you have a knack for finding an artistic view of things. Keep up the good work.
G'day Brett,
With Gentleness I was working to avoid anything "popping". lol. I was after the whole, smooth and silky thing. I'm all for the POP, most of the time. :)
Mikel.
Thanks Brett,
Prison Yard was one photo that sat in my folder for a long time. I needed distance from it to really start to appreciate it myself. :)
Mikel.
Hey Brett, glad you liked the reflection shot, it turned out pretty well under the circumstances. (Me stumbling around in the dark on a moonless night with no flashlight. lol. )
Mikel.
Hey Brett,
Yeah, not many pedestrians. LOL. Just a fluke, I was shooting across the main street, lots of pedestrians there, I had to keep waiting for people and cars to not be in the shot in the mid/foreground but few were going up that sidestreet, lucky me.
Mikel.
thanks for commenting on "Grasses". this was taken at the ocean just after they had had a wind storm that snapped full grown trees down, so i think the calm look is due to the after math effect that bad storms have.
hi brett.
thanks so much for your kind words and suggestions on "hope."
yes, i agree that it should be cleaned up quite a bit, i took it in the car, so i think it has to do with the spots on the window.
i better go out and clean that window soon :]
thanks again.
peace.

Thanks for the comment on Lavender Swirl. I did let my imagination go on this one. Yeah, a lot of names came to mind on this one, I just kept it pretty general with Lavender Swirl.
G'day Brett,
Glad you liked the jungle fractal, kinda cool how it came out. One or two points either side of those settings and it looked entirely different! :)
Hey Brett, glad you liked the Water's Edge mate. The light was cool but my comp is less than ideal, a bit more angle and a better divided image would be better, maybe I'll go back and try it again. :)
