Michael, thanks for the comment and the recomment. :-) I am glad you liked the grays used. I did completely desaturate the image, which usually produces a variety of grays.
You had asked how I took it and I had told you that I used a few filters, but I saw it done earlier without using any filters, just tricks with a real lens. I have been using Gimp (because I can't afford Photoshop), and it has been working pretty well for me, although it takes a bit of getting used to. On some areas they cut a few corners, and as long as you know where, they can be avoided. As with any program, it takes some times to sift through to the jewels. Motion blurs are one area that Gimp did cut corners; it is hard to make very slight blurs, and when you make large motion blurs, it looks to choppy. On this image, it gave it a more mechanical feel, but for the ultimate speed impression, it should be smooth. It has been a while since my morals have moved above my pirated version of Photoshop, hence I don't recall how smooth their filters were or not, but I don't think anything can match the smoothness of a real lens. On the other hand, disruptive bars can compliment some images, you just have to know which. If you haven't downloaded Gimp already, I recommend doing so. It has a great sharp unmask filter, as long as you can control it. Thanks again for the interest in the image, and I hope I haven't ruined it by talking too much. :-)
Thank you for posting that very nice shot photoimagery. I have your gallery on my bookmarks/favorites now,and you are incredibly talented.
Stuffnstuff,I do have Gimp. I first learned about it through Linux, and now it's my only editing tool,as like you,i cannot affors Photoshop. I'm glad i'm not alone in using it as I thought before.
And by the way, your shot is at the moment on my desktop, and your gallery is also on my favorited pages.
Hey Michael, so glad my image Glass Works wound up on your desktop. Just goes to show you, with a camera and a little imagination you can do a lot of thing, they may not all be great but some can be pretty interesting. Thanks for your comments and your time. Dwight.
hey mike whats up. thanks for ur comment on all [they] see, like it made me really smile, so i appreciate that and its the same girl..me in the pics. THANKS FOR ur comment, so apreciate it, u have no idea.
I am glad you like my pic called Alien Planet! I took a lot of pictures and cut & pasted them together and I also used Three seperate programs for special effects! Thanks again!
Shnivles, I really enjoy all of your images, especially "Without You Here". You seem very innovative, and i'm glad you appreciate the comments. I do too though...nudge nudge.
DixieNormus, that's by far one of my favorite fractals. I love the colors.
Neass, your image just caught my eye...must say that it was very creative. Nice job.
Thanks for your comment on "The New Weapons Test"! The Sequel you won't probably like because it adds to more rippling/waves but the third and final image is what is completely different. I hope you comment on them both!
Hi Micheal, and a Hearty WELCOME to Caedes, hope you enjoy all the fine people on this site as much as I have. Thank you for commenting on "Roses on the Green"! Please stop by for another visit! Sincerely, Marilyn
Hi Micheal, your certainly welcome!! Thank you for your high praise for "A Cool Rose"!! I appreciate it very much! Please return for another visit! Sincerely, Marilyn
I feel bad because I never realized that almost all of the flower pictures I have liked have come from you marilyn. You have incredible talent, and i greatly enjoy your submittions.
Noranda, your welcome, and thank you for submitting that.
Hi Blague...thanks for your positive feedback on "Way Over the Rainbow." You said you weren't familiar with TieraZon. I wasn't either just a couple of weeks ago. You can download it free from the net and, compared to many programs, it's relatively easy and fun to use. This is Version 2.9. I paid for the upgrade from 2.8, but there is very little difference between them and I initially downloaded version 2.8 free from the net. Nice to meet you.
Wendy
Thanks for your thoughtful comments at "yellow fields". :)
i agree about what Darryl said about an 'anchor'. the wires actually converged and dissapeared into a bush, on the left of the photo, before i cropped it to 4:3 from 3:2.
:D
Awww, no probs Michael!
Thanks also for leaving a comment by *Angel*, I'm very pleased you liked it...yes, both the wings and heart are called flames :P...you should really try out Apophysis...It's freeware and very easy to use once you get the hang of it ^_^
Have a wonderful day
Hi Michael, my oh my, thank you for your high regards for "The Five of Hearts"! I appreciate very much you liking my work and of course your very kind words! Sincerely, Marilyn
I'd just like to say thank you for the wonderful comment you left at "Angel's Spirit", I'm very happy the way it turned out. The "angel" in it actually doesn't have any wings, it just looks like she's looking up and spreading her arms. Apophysis makes great random fractals, all it takes is some time fiddling around with it. You could also try searching for a tutorial at google, thats how I learned. Anyway thanks for the kind comment, I really appreciate it. : )
Hi Michael. Thanks for your appreciative words on the Idea Butterfly image. It is shot with a macro lense from a distance of approx. 4 inches. Hard to understand it didn´t fly away..lol

Thanks Michael for commenting on "Iced Glass" and "Glass Flower." I truly apprecaite it. : ) I am pretty new to photography so my work is still experimental. It's always nice to get positive feedback.
Hi, Michael..thanks so much for your very nice comments about my maiden venture with Vue d'Esprit! There are lots of bells and whistles in that program that I don't have a clue about yet, but I so like the 3-D images, I had to give it a try. Glad you liked my first "experiment!"

Never give up. Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. ~~ Michael Jordan

Hi Michael. Thanks for being the first one to comment Sunlit Lily In The Shade. It is interesting to test different lighting on flowers and I´m glad you liked this one. I´m also glad you liked the red windmill shot against the sky. A deep blue sky would have been very effectful, but you can´t always get what you want..lol. Thanks for your kind words, Michael. -- Arne --
Hey, thanks so much for commenting and voting! =D Yeah, Italy was alot of fun...we went two Junes ago right after school got out. It was about a week and a half's worth of museums, churches, and museums...my parents loved it. Us kids, well, we'd rather sit on the beach or climb a mountain. lol. But anyways, thanks alot! I'll talk to ya later!

Michael, thanks for your thoughtful and insightful comment on "Warmth". I think you give me more credit than I deserve, but oh well. :-) Anything I could have done better?
Hi Micheal, thanks for stopping by and leaving your lovely comments on "A Christmas Rose"! I appreciate them very much! Please stop by again! Sincerely, Marilyn
Small though it may be, your gallery allways amazes me, and only so much more when I go back to your profile and check your age. You have some serious talent. Keep uploading!
Hey Michael, thanks for the input on "Sun's last goodbye" really means a lot...
The lack of focus point was intentional, since I didn't have any reference on the horizon I tried to capture the greatness of the sunset by itself...
Thanks for the feedback!
Happy new year!
hey thanks for the comments, kind words and tips on "ye olde spinning wheel" and "crimping iron". I've made sure to upload my newer pictures at a larger size.(I figured out resolution ;) )
