Thanks to all who comment on pictures in my gallery. Please accept my apologies if I am unable to thank you each time, and please don't feel obligated to thank me for my comments.
Welcome to Caedes, Kevin. Great you have joined us. Thank you very much for your nice lines you left to "on a cloudy day". Surprisingly heavy clouds did not discourage me from snapshooting. However you have to be careful - on a cloudy day you'd better keep the grey filter. Stay tuned
Gee thanks for you lovely comments on my photo four corners of the past. Did you ever think that is was intentional to have it black and white, because its money. Do not come on this site and bash it because it does not fit your needs or your expectations. And just because something is black and white, does not make it deep and emotional. Do not vent your frustrations on your comments on my photos. Thanks but no thanks, please just continue to look over my work and vent somewhere else. If you do not like this website leave. Who are you to decide what people have seen and what people have not. " ohh look a closeup of a flower", maybe that flower had more impact in a persons life then just a plant....ever think of that? Your right, it is ART and you shouldnt be venting on peoples photos because they are not what you wanted.
he is merely stating the idea that things tend to get rated higher on this site when they're either in sepia tones or black/white. if i took a really colorful picture and made it black and white, it would likely get a higher rating on this site! really, that's why he's venting. i mean, he took a picture of his cat.. virtually a snapshot, mind you, and it got ranked higher than most of his stuff... mostly because it was in black and white.
man, maybe i should look into taking pictures of my cat and making them black and white and uploading them..... nah, too boring
Hi, I want to thank you for the comments on Christmas Cactus. Yes, it is a cactus and is green most of the year, but around Christmas and sometimes Easter, it has buds and then these beautiful flowers emerge. You might see them for sale in the supermarket floral section around this time of year. I was looking in your gallery, btw, and you have quite an eye for an image. I liked what I saw there a lot. When I have a chance, I'm going to look at it more closely if you don't mind. Cindy
CITIZENS of our world, check my website for a riveting, informational video that concerns all of you and the future of our globe. You will be flabbergasted, annoyed, distressed, in disbelief, but you will have been made aware of the WARNINGS. See this film. It gets better as it goes along, but will have your attention from the first quote.
Hi Kevin! Thanks for commenting on "Night Sofia" Actually I want to have movement at the photo. I own up that I don't know how to do this without bluring the image. Maybe my hand had trembled. But I'll make another try. And I'm glad that people like you (who definitely has more experience than me) are here giving advices and sharing their good works. There are many people with original ideas and good technics and I'm absolutely agree with you that the system of voting sucks.
Hi there and thanks for your comments. I suppose we can't please everybody, and you're right the whole concept of the picture was meant to be creepy. The actual myth behind the picture has quite a sinister side to it and if you look down the ages, there are stories like this all over the world. I was only depicting the myth the way I was told it in my day. The other peopl were only commenting on the picture of myself which was used because of the safty laws regarding pictures of other people. I don't have to ask permission to get a picture of myself. And if you were commenting on the fact that I look creepy, then shame on you, i would never make a personal jibe on yourself no matter how creepy you looked. However, I must admit I am not the most photogenic person but that is again personal taste.
By the way, welcome to caedes and I will look out for art by yourself.
I'm glad to see there are as many people as there are who aren't taken aback by my bluntness :). I'm a fairly outspoken person, lol. I will say now, just to clarify, that I don't find anything wrong with flower shots, or bug shots, or sepia toned shots, or black and white shots, I just find that they are rated higher for no other reason than that, and those "color filters" persay are far overused on pictures that would be much more interesting in other ways.
First, I apprecitate your comments on my other photos and second, I can accept criticism, but I was responding more towards your ranting about this site, (although its not how it came out) and its operations. Can you please explain "Logic error," Im confused as to what you meant. The reason why i chose black and white instead of color, was to lessen the effect the glare had on the coins, I had 'not so good' lighting and i was working around it. No harsh feelings Kevin. Please respond, Thank You -Brian
Thank for for commenting on my photo bleached angel, It was a very eerie day;very rainy. I grabbed my gear and booked it to the cemetary. Im glad you enjoyed it and thanks again for the comments. I do want to apologize for my first post on your wall. It came across too harsh and that was no its intention. I am sorry. -Brian
I totally understand what you mean, even though i did just upload another black and white. Lol. I enjoy your photo of the boats and will be commenting on it shortly. I hope we are on the same page now Kevin. -brian

Kia ora, thankyou for visiting my Spring Babies and leaving such a nice comment. The positioning of them was all their own doing, just luck :)
Borders - always a question to border or not to border. Some days I border, some days I don't. Some like them, some hate them. I just sit on the fence :)

Thanks for the comments on 'Lower Falls Revisited' much appreciated. There wasn't much color to be had and if you look at my 'Lewis River' pic I was standing on top of these very falls.

Hi Kevin, I'm glad you had a look at A Sea of Blue and thanks very much for your comments. There were quite stark contrasts between the ground cover and the canopy and it ended up bein a bit of a compromise. But I feel it worked out ok.
Cheers,
Steve.

Wow, so I'm back. Remembered this site. I've grown a bit older, a bit wiser, and a bit (as in a lot) more laid back. It's kind of hard to believe that I was the same person that cared enough to write some of the scathing remarks I see here =/. So I cleaned up some of my DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA.
Got a few things to upload from a trip to Ecuador that I took a couple months ago. Probably will upload them over the following weeks.
I can upload them faster to my own website so if you care to see more at all, I've got more of my photography over at my website, and adding more all the time. Nothing professional, mind you, but I enjoy it as amateur work :).
I think we will really get an eyeful with you! Your first post is very interesting!
