“In autumn when the trees are brown
The little leaves come tumbling down
They do not make the slightest sound
But lie so quietly on the ground
Until the wind comes puffing by
And blows them off towards the sky…”
Fall poem by John Muir

You had me lost for words after your accurate comment about "towards the sun", Hilde. Thank you so much for your visit. I found this gorgeous flower in a small botanical garden. I didn't know I would find there such beauties in full blossom in October! Vivid colors made me cruise with my camera for over an hour...

Thanks for commenting on 'Sometimes you feel like a nut...'. I've been shooting these silly squirrels in my back yard all summer. I get about one decent picture a month and I did like this one, too. Thanks again.

Hi Hilde, thanks for commenting on 'Green Goddess'. And with a 10cm wingspan she was quite impressive 'in the flesh'!! The underside looks even more leaf-like.

Hi Hilde, Thanks for all the kind words you've left that I haven't gotten around to saying thank you for. I do appreciate your comments because you are such a skilled photographer yourself and I find encouragement in your observations.

I would like to thank you for your supportive words on lake "in fall disguise", Hilde. To make it even more convincing I would like to add a biiiig smile and a bear hug. I do hope this cheerful capture will keep you smiling during long and dark evenings of November.
I wish I could find a better way of saying “thank you” for your warm feedback on “golden trail” my friend. It was just after the little shower when I droved by the Chojnowski Landscape Park. Incredible shimmer of wet golden leaves made me pull over to check the source of this warm and vibrant light. And this is what I have found! Please enjoy!
Hi Hilde, many thanks for the comments you have been leaving on my Salzburg photos - I am glad you are enjoying them! It was such a beautiful place to visit, it was hard to take a bad photo!! Lots more to come. :) Patti

Hi Hilde, finally got around to thanking you for your comments on 'Backlit Beauty'. I'm having so much interest it's difficult keeping up with all the correspondance.
Cheers,
Steve.

Thanks for your kind comments Hilde. I agree, they are amazing - it's a pity most of them are only active at night. I was extremely lucky to find this one at rest during the day, with cool conditions allowing me to have time to set up this shot.

Yes, I am a tree lover, you must have realized it by now. So here is a nice poem to accompany my photo and to thank you for your warm feedback:
“I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray,
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair
Upon whose blossom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems were made by fools like me
But only God can make a tree.”

The Barbary Apes on the Rock of Gibraltar, you were so kind to visit Hilde, are actually tail-less monkeys - the only free-roaming monkeys in Europe. It is presumed the apes were imported as pets from North Africa during the early days of the British garrison. Soon they found the rough limestone cliffs and scrub vegetation a nice habitat. They are very sociable but inquisitive at the same time, fooling around in crowds of tourists to get some food.

Many thanks for your favorable review of clouded skies. It happens more and more often that the sun is hiding behind some impressive and threatening clouds, which I am lucky to observe from my bedroom window.

Hello Hilde, sorry for my lateness in responding but thank you so much for your visit and complimentary feedback on Glancing Back at Spring...I am very pleased you enjoyed it and appreciate your visit and comments.:Pat.
I am far behind with my written appreciation for the wonderful works of others and the marvelous attention given mine, so once again Hilde, my dear, I thank you for all of the comments on so many of my images that you have made!!!!!! I am happy to discover your warm compliments on my series of "November impressions". Incredible is the result of this lovely mellow autumn light struggling with the morning mist and bare tree branches. I am happy you have found the mood of the November days so appealing.

Thanks big bunches for your warm reply to snowy "winterland". The photo was taken in March 2006 in Beskid Mountains once I tried to learn how to ski, he, he, he… As a result I spent much more time taking photos than skiing. It was great fun anyway but I wish I had my present camera with me at that time.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my Panorama of land and islands. It is one of my favourite places, so I try to do it justice! It is actually a little wider than the pic, but I didn't want any more border, so I had to crop it a little! Thanks again! Kate

Thanks Hilde for commenting on my picture “Orange Black Tip”. The occasional trip to the butterfly garden is the extent of my photography when it’s this cold.
