To be honest, there was no building. If you have seen a few of the others, you may be able to mentally build what the original looked like (which I plan to uplaod last), but I suppose right now I wouldn't know because I have always seen the original.
The block-like effect which was mistaken for a building was actually produced by a combination of filters, mainly the Illusion filter. The reason it looks so strange is that most of the image was white to begin with (thanks to the Diffuse Glow), which leaves little left to twist.
The next couple have a different type of style if you want to stick around for them. Thanks again! :-)
Flurije;
THanks for your comment on my, Colorado National Monument. If I may quote you "you westerners get the good scenery" My friend look about you. I would love to get back east and spend a year photographing the Smokie Mountains. Dogwood trees and some of the wonderful old buildings that abound in the south. Another item I would like to photograph is (now don't laugh) Cudzoo. Aw you southerners get all of the good scenery. !:0)

Hi Flurije ! No, I didn´t use pins to get that butterfly shot..lol..but a lot of patience is needed ! Thanks for your kind words on the war-painted butterfly ! (Painted For A Pow-Wow 2)
Thank you for your kind comments on "From the Inside Out" Flurije. I'm pleased you liked it. Good luck on the Finals.
The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move. This is the artist’s way of scribbling “Kilroy was here” on the wall of the final and irrevocable oblivion through which he must someday pass.

Heya Flurije...It's been a while since I last heard from you!
Thanks for commenting on *Faerie Dust*...I'm glad you liked it :D
OMG I can't wait till HP comes out...though its timing is rather convenient...just in time for the summer hols...YEY! :D
Best wishes,
I'm back again, Flurije. Thanks for the comments on "From The Inside Out". When I went inside the building I was struck with the view that the folks that had lived there had, and they left it. I hope they found a place with a better view, because it really affected me. I love old buildings; they all have stories to be told. I waited until the light outside was bright enough to where the f-stop range was far enough apart to give me the silhouette. I'm pleased you like it.
You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat.

Thanks for the comment on "Fishy Fossil"! :) I used to collect fossils too when I was a kid and I was totally fascinated by it. We didn't have big fancy fossils though, just the average (and rather small) trilobites and different sea-shells. Those were the days... ^_^
Hi Flurije. Thanks for your lauditory comments on "HORIZON." This was the third piece I uploaded here but it's one of those pieces that you working at and all of a sudden there's this "YES!" feeling and ya know it's finished and that it has a nice look and feel to it. So glad you liked it. Nice to meet you!
Wendy
Flurije, I have to agree that the Smokeys are equally photogenic to Colorado. If anything, Colorado is easier to shoot because it is all there to see, not much in the way, and the air is usually quite clear. Your part of the counrty is, to me, more subtly beautiful, but beautiful nonetheless. Anyhow, thanks for your comments on my Dunes at Dawn shot! Mike
Thanks, so glad you liked my Rosebud with Lilacs.. They did smell wonderful.. I love lilacs, too..
I think it is pretty hard to find a flower I don't like.. Natures miracles...

My Friend;
Please forgive my late reply to your comment about my, Grand Canyon in Fog and Snow. Annie and I just returned from a 15 day ( which was supposed to last only ten days) photo trip. It was so beautiful that we just couldn't leave. How about taking a vacation and joining both of us where the temperature every morning was, 32F and warmed to 68F by mid afternoon. It is a hard life but someone has to do it. <smile>. You had better hurry and hide in my luggage as I am headed back There for another two weeks on the 12 of July.

Thank you Flurije for your kind comments on "Palouse Farmland". I really like photographing the Palouse region in Eastern Washington and N. Western Idaho.
A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

thanks Flurige for the post on 5 Green Bottles. I did think about reviving the Brand Snap style images but I kind of got put off due to their appaling popularity - or indeed lack thereof. I did the next big thing and used Coca Cola which is probably one of the most iconic brands about.
'Deep country' was taken in north of France. The borders are coming from the 3:2 format I use instead of 4:3 format on caedes.net. Thanks for your nice words :-)
I'm a stickler for original NASA pics, nothing like the real thing. I guess I just got too used to the Earth Rise pics, that your's looked unreal. Hey, tastes differ and it does look great. My avatar is from an online game - Lineage II
Hey Flurije :d
Thanks for commenting on my *Fantasia*...I'm pleased to see you liked it! Hehe, since reading HP I've been doing a lot of things...including waiting for my mum to finish reading it to my little brother so I can have it again :P
Hope you have an awesome day!

How was your nap? It must have been a long one because I posted, Calm Before the Storm on the first of August. Thanks for leaving a comment. That takes a bit of time and not enough of us takes the minute or two to let members know how they feel about an image.

Hi Flurije
Thanks for you comment on "Essex Skipper" glad you like it.
I thought about giving it a bit more contrast but desided not to ...this image ( butterfly) is so fragile that giving it more contrast would destroy the softness of it...I think.
It took me 2 hours to clean up all those lines man! :p lol, Thanks fer your comments on Nexus-Blackwinter, glad you liked it... Look for the other colors coming soon!
Hello Flurije,
to my big surprise I was elected to be the first Artist of the week, amazing but true.
And so I want to say thanks good friend, for your big support and posting such a nice comment! And I think the book is about the enter a new chapter!
Paul
Hi Flurije...thanks a lot for dropping by to view and comment on Stark...very glad you liked it and I think you are right about the border...black would've been better...I appreciate your visit and imput.:Pat.
It may have been a sepia straight from the camera, I don't remember. These types of pictures rarely turn out well while in color from that camera, and sepias make smaller files (good for long vacations), so I wouldn't be surprised if there was no color original.
Yet another thanks for your comments. As for "Jitter Shadow", when you say that you would like the main tongue of flame a bit more centered, do you mean completely centered? I have seen many a photographer remark that pictures are ruined for such aspects, so, as you can tell from my gallery, I try to stay away from them being overly centered. Come to think of it, I must be subconsciously using it as an effect. It is at this point that I should get a bigger bag of tricks. :-)
Thanks so much for your comments regarding "Paco" . Sorry about the size, I've asked Santa to bring me some new "things" for my computer . :) I see that you have SC listed as one of your places- I live near Myrtle Beach- Where are you from? Anyway, thanks again.
Just came from visiting your galleries and wanted to write a few additional words.
Given the time, of my day here, I should know better than to jump in and start looking and enjoying. Time flies, as they say, and I must admit, that I limited myself to those images that jumped out at me. So, this is not to say that your others did not warrant a few words.
Thanks for your comments on "Frozen River," much appreciated. I'll have to try the blur thing and see how it looks. Thanks. I hope you voted...good or bad.
Hi Flurije
Glad you liked 'Sea of Concrete'. The line you mentioned is just from a dodgy attempt to alter the colour of the sky a little - the selection wasnt very good. Thanks for the input - and ill see what i can do. Cheers.
Sam.
Thank you for your comments about "Weathered." I knew right away that I should've gotten a better angle when I saw it, just you like you suggested. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and write a few words.
Hello Flurije, Thanx for stoping by GINA REDUX. I'm glad you like it. If Dali had the chance to go digital he would leave me in the dust (LOL). But yes, surrealism is a passion of mine (as long as it's not too deprssing, which a lot of it is). I can apprerciate the darkside of the force but I tend to sway to the light (LOL). I like your Avatar. Ron Weasley is my favorite, I'm an HP junkie. Thanx again...................Amaris

Flurije Salihu say about "thank you Canada"
I like the perspective, as well, but I can't help but wonder if this wouldn't be more powerful in black and white.
@ Flurije Salihu
Maybe your right, but I like colors, it gives an extra dimension, I think so!
Thanks for comment!

i see.. the problem with taking the butterfly pic was i was shaking at the time and the wind was blowing and everything was off.. but yeah, i could tell it was jacked up. everyone else thot it was fine.
You left me a comment thanking me for a comment I made on a picture, but I think you took that picture down. I wish I could remember what I said! Either way, you're welcome. haha
Putting your pictures in my favorites is the highest honor I can give you. If I do not get to your pictures as soon as you post them, I apologize. I try. Also if I do not respond for awhile it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you, it just means I'm really tied up with life.
Thanks for the comments on "Conquers All". There was a poem to go along with it and explain it in the second comment box. I don't know how many people saw that.
Snow Hills,Thanks so much. This one taken believe it or not with a small sony compact through the side window of my truck.Pixelation caused with the limitation of the lens at full zoom..I use Neat image but not on this occasion.Richie.

Thanks for the complements on
Macro Diffraction abstract Flurije. The nature of the glass and the motion of the bits inside did indeed make it a difficult shot. This is one of about 20 shots that did not turn out so well.
Thanks again for the complements.
