Thank you for the nice comment on "Inspired." Who knows, maybe the original settlers who built the chapel were from your area! I too wondered how many fried chicken/potato salad picnics took place there, weddings, funerals, and such. A lot of history, no doubt... Steve
Hi and thanks for the comment, unfourtunately for me the story is identical, current temp 21 degrees, 18 inches of snow on the ground, and I do not like the cold so any new photos will be indoor ones
Hi, thanks for your kind comments on my Tortoise photo, I'm not much good at messing with the brightness and contrast, cant figure out if the contrast should be lower or higher number then the brightness, so generally I dont mess, but I will see what I can do :)
Thanks for trying to help me with the contrast and brightness. The only programme I have on my comp is PSP 7. So usually try to rely on the camera getting it right, but I will have a mess around with copies of some of my photos. Bye
Hi Matt, thanks for your comment on Heart of the Canyon II. In answer to your question, I took this hike in mid-October some years ago. Weather was partly cloudy and cool. I started at sunrise and hiked from the South Rim to the bottom of the canyon and back. It took all day: the descent and climb back are about 5,000 feet each, and the distance is probably 15 miles. I was in good physical condition and carried a lot of water and some food, but little else. I do not remember the hike as terribly difficult. However the Park Service very strongly recommends NOT to attempt this, even for experienced hikers and especially not in summer when temps lower in the canyon can easily top 100 deg.
Matthew, thanks for commenting on Grand Canyon Sunrise. Not sure I'd want to fly over that place in a small plane, although I'm sure the views are amazing.
Matt, thanks for comments on the creek, you have to wade and fish the dark holes on the sides for bass and sunfish, my brothers caught a 33 lb tabby cat, 30 years ago...LOL
Hey, Matt...many thanks for your comment on Crestone. I did climb one of the nearby peaks when I was out there, but the Crestones are a bit too much for me.
Matt excuse for the F 19.......very very wrong oké. Excuse to your uncle to.....
It was wrong but simple working with photoshop to renove the statue and houses.
Hey, Matt, thanks for the comment On A Clear Day. If you ever have a chance to go to the southwest, jump at it...and be sure to take your camera...Mike
Matt
Thank you for your kind words about my Arizona Sunset. It was a real challenge to capture this image. I see in your profile that you are interested in landscape photography. If I can ever be of any help jut drop me a PM or better still an e-mail. My address is on my profile page. Good shooting!

Photography is not a trade - it is an art. It is more that an art.
It is a solar phenomenon,
where the artist collaborates with the sun.

Matt, many thanks for your comments on Island Sunset, I'm pleased that you liked it. This photo was mostly the result of being in the right place at the right time. I was lucky to be present!
ty for the comment on Saint Louis Cathedral.. i took that photo sometime in May of last year.. was a very sunny day and the sunlight "painted" the church quite well..
Thanks for the post on Return To Flight - the NASA photographers often capture great shots and myself and KJ (Crusader) like to bring the best of them to the Caedes crowd as space related shots usually make for excellent desktop images.

Matthew thank you for the comments on "KaBoom!" To answer your question I really do not know what shutter speed I was shooting on this -- I think I just got a lucky shot! Thanks for adding this to your favorites. By the way, I like your name -- my youngest son's name is Matthew also! Have a great day!
Hi Matt. When we walked the 'Rainforest 1', I saw that strange and luminous fog. I was lcuky enough to take those pictures. Thanks for your feedback :-)
