Thanks Stan for your great comments on Drilling and In The Tree... i'm glad you liked them... The drilling image does look like the winding gear at a pit.. its a shame that they are closing the pits down, my dad used to work in the pits over there.. as for the tree.. the kids used to have a cubby house in there, lots of adventures went on... lol

Thank you for saving it ("The Octopus Tree"). That means a lot to me. I not just talking, people will tell you that I mean what I say and say what I mean. Thanks again.
Thanks for visiting "The Local Gossip". Quite a few out-of-towners have been caught short when they realized they were talking (in passing by) to a giant doll. I apprecite your time and comments. Maurice Owens

Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill

Stan, your comments about "The House at 39 Hobbs Lane" are dead on. I realize I should have run the narrative to at least 3 or 4 paragraphs. Thanks for stopping by, my friend.
Kia Ora Stan, Thank you so much for your generous comment on my sunset shot.
Am I correct in thinking Newton-le--Willows is is Lancashire, close to Wigan? I have just spent some time in Liverpool and Southport. I was born in Liverpool and now our son is living in Southport. We were there for the flower show which was very nice but very wet :)
