"I decided that it was not wisdom that enabled [poets] to write their poetry, but a kind of instinct or inspiration, such as you find in seers and prophets who deliver all their sublime messages without knowing in the least what they mean."
--Socrates (in "Apology")
Thanks for commenting on Autumn Beginnings. I may be able to get back there for a more intense fall image, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time yet. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate that.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

Missed the bumper sticker...they closed the mountain trails that day because of too much snow and high winds. I was blown away by the speed of the clouds traversing the scene so I guess that made a lot of sense.
"Imperfection is beauty; madness is genius & it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring. And when it comes down to it, I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I'm really better than them."--Marilyn Monroe
Thanks, Dennis, for your comments on "Undressed Stone". Those three blocks looked so different to the surrounding blocks i just had to photograph them.
Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for stopping by and giving "The Great Smoky Mountains" a very nice comment. This shot was taken last summer when I was in Tenn. Like you I live in New York and can't wait until we get better weather!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on A Lonely Road. In reply about the cup; I'm just happy that was the only piece of trash there. It's outside of an abandoned factory and there is nothing but trash and parts of furniture laying around.
"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable man persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man." -- George Bernard Shaw
"Do you see any Teletubbies in here? Do you see a slender plastic tag clipped to my shirt with my name printed on it? Do you see a little Asian child with a blank expression on his face sitting outside on a mechanical helicopter that shakes when you put quarters in it? No? Well, that's what you see at a toy store. And you must think you're in a toy store, because you're here shopping for an infant named Jeb."
I did a road tour all across Canada from the East Coast to the West and the Canadian Rockies were my most

Thank you very much for your comments on "Diamond in the Rough".
You are most likely right about the year I was guessing at it the guy that owns it would not come out so I couldn’t ask him.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust . . . . The aim of argument, or of discussion, should not be victory, but progress." ~ Joseph Joubert (1754-1824)
Thanks for looking at my fancy white car Dennis..I don't take many car pictures so I thought I would post one for a change. I would rather have a fast sports car then an old one like this..
"Great shot,,, wasn't that used in a recent movie shoot?" Dennis - Perhaps, parts of Hope Springs were filmed in the borough. Connecticut is being used more and more for filming. Thad

Hello Dennis, thanks for the comment on "A Grand View". I agree, when I first walked up to the canyon it was an overwhelming feeling. Make one feel small and insignificant. Thanks again.
