If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.
Thank you Alex for your comments on "Desert Storm" and "Balance". They truely are appreciated.
The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move. This is the artist’s way of scribbling; “Kilroy was here” on the wall of the final and irrevocable oblivion through which he must someday pass.

Welcome to Caedes and I hope you experience all of the wonderful artist here. Enjoy your browsing as much as I do.
Thanks Alex for the lovely comments on "Falling Away". I also love waterfalls they are probably my second favorite subject. My favorite is Macro work. I love taking images of things most people don't see and in this case the old phrase "Stop and Smell the Roses" takes on a new meaning.
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.

Thanks Alex for your insightful comment on "Downtown Seattle". I know what you mean about the foreground being a bit plain, oh well. You must have great eyes, because I can't see that the horizon is off level. Thank's for the tips.
Hello Alex,
thanks for commenting on Vaux Le Vicomte - Inside looking out.
I use an digital Canon Eos350D for this shot. The balancing of the light is always very difficult. What I do is this: use a high ISO value (800 in this case), the smallest diaphragma (high number) to get a long exposure time. The longer the exposure, the better the saturation. The difficulty is of course the windows. I try to shoot in a way to the limit of overexposure, that is : the windows get overexposed but only so much that I can correct the lighting afterwards on a PC. Yes, that's right, half the work is done afterwards on a PC.
It could also be done in an other way, but that woud require a tripod (which I did not use).
With a tripod you could should two photo's at different exposure and then overlay them afterwards.

Thanks Alex for those great comments on my Backyard Dragon Fly 3 image. I'm glad you found it interesting. It's sitting on a metal bird sculpture made from old tools.

Humble pie for your comment on: "Is It Russia or Mars"?
Yes probably. I did not spend alot of time on it as I really like the sky in it and always went off daydreaming looking @ it. I posted the thread in "Comments"??? in the discussion board and Samatar asked about the origional so I uploaded it. I want feedback from people so I am not going to play around to much with things whilst Im still missing out things on the basics on occasion. By the way Prague looks fab.

Thank you Alex for your comments on "Natures' Song". Thanks for stopping by.
Bad artists always admire each other’s work. They call it being large-minded and free from prejudice. But a truly great artist cannot conceive of life being shown, or beauty fashioned, under any conditions other than those he has selected.

thanks for the comment on my centre street bridge shot. It was taken in march, so the tail end of the winter acctually.
Also thanks for the comment on the city scape one. It is cold in the winter, but then you wear lots of clothes and stay in side when possible. There is ussaully only around 1 or 2 weeks were it drops below -30C. In the summer it can get pretty nice. Probably also a week or 2 when it is 30C
The leaning shed pic has the borders because of the resolution my camera takes has a different aspect ratio then what the site uses, so i either have to crop or bar it. I didn't want to lose the sides on this guy.
