I'm back (again). Fully into digital painting, now, in Photoshop. Still in the learning phase, but getting there. I started learning to paint (properly) in Photoshop, in March 2016, and created this in April. Having a decent graphics tablet really helps!

You remember the great fire from 1979 that supposedly started in your garage where that chipmunk ingested some fertilizer and fell into a can of kerosene, instantly turning into a flying little fluffy little molotov cocktail that set a blaze leveling the whole neighborhood west of Newton's Hardware Store?

Hi Paul,

Just read your comments on my commentary. (No, don't attempt saying that fast, twice or even once. :oP)

Thought I would put a few more words down and to say I appreciate you taking the time to respond in full. That interaction is priceless to me, as I am a novice (well, frustrated artist may be better, talent abounds in my family) and eager to learn from those in the know.

And forgive me if I sounded too brash in my suggestions. I usually take a look at a person's profile and their gallery to date, to gauge my intended audience. I will, however reiterate that I am quite confident that you have found a home amongst your peers. Ta for now.

Hey Paul,

Thanks for the comments on 'Mountain Peak (HDR)' very much appreciated. You may be correct about uploading causing some deterioration in the image but I'm sure what you are seeing is cloud misting. In that pic the sky was run through a noise reduction program. HDR loves to go after some of these elements which makes it even more difficult. To the point where you have to make trade offs.

Hey Paul,

Well now ... I am 'chuffed' ... to no end ... to have read your most kind appraisal on my "Outside My Window."

When the concept came to mind, I must admit ... I couldn't wait to see it come to fruition. Might have rushed some aspects, but overall I was pleased with the end results. Glad that you liked it.

As to your quesitions?

Hmm, some times ... some times, it pays to keep your cards close to your vest. No lessons per se, but I am always expanding my knowledge.

Your 'other' question?

Can't say, as it might incriminate me and be used against me ... and then I would have to produce some good stuff alll of the time, lol.

Thanks again ... annnnd ... feel free to write a 'book-style commentary' ... any time. ;o)

Les.

p.s. Will get back to your galleries soon, hang in there.

p.s.p.s. Hope I got the reference implied correctly on 'chuffed.' :oP

Hey Paul,

I think the middle ground between your monitor and mine would suit my purposes for achieving a better balance on "Words".

The intent was to go a little ... a little, uhm 'high key-ish' if I can use that term. An experiment in composition for me to a degree to bring forth and keep focal attention on the butterfly.

Rendered some lighting effects, in addition to some other blending modes, filters ... yadda yadda ... yadda stuff. It is not as pronounced on mine here, and at times I have found posting on the site here to be a bit of a crap shoot on some pieces.

But, greatly appreciate your honesty Paul. No worries on that aspect with me rest assured.

Thanks for taking the time to view and comment, 'preciate it.

Ta for now,

Les.

hey, thanks for commenting on "life", you said you wondered whether the 'ghosting' was deliberate. if by ghosting you mean that blueish looking stuff, that was definately not deliberate and i didn't even notice it, so thanks for pointing that out.

Hey Paul,

First, allow me to say this ... no worries when you get around to having a look see at my creative imaginings. And but of course, I do sincerely appreciate you taking the time when time and opportunity permit. :o)

Yeah ... "Fixer Upper", I love the base image. I have some rather grand plans to complete the digital renovation of sorts and bring out more of the beauty that I still see, even in its' current state.

The architecture of the windows, is but one element that draws me into that image.

So ... a few more ... ahem ... 'lessons' ;o) ... and I might present a mini-series.

Don't worry though ... you have lots of time to devote to your art before the next posting.

Thanks for the visit and for your insight ... it is an intriguing image, isn't it?

Les.

p.s. You are correct on the fractal aspect. Some times, I just can't leave well enough(?) alone, lol. Just got to keep on mucking about at times.

Hey Paul,
Thanks for the comments. You to have a varied and interesting gallery. I only wish I had the time to play for hours on the computer. I'm an artist and I don't even have the time to sit and paint. And about the flowers.....I have thousands of flower shots, great ones, but I feel bad posting them it seems so uncreative some how.
Jolly good, John

Hello Paul! I'm glad that you viewed and commented on my "Pssssst! Wanna Buy a Fishing Rod" photo. He stayed at the end of the tank watching the people and a smaller bass kept biting and nudging him. He certainly has had a hard life up till now. I appreciate your support. Thanks,
