Hi Richie, thanks for your comments on one of my Derbyshire photos! I agree that the area around Matlock is pretty. My favourite part is around Monsal Dale, Curbar Edge, Froggat Edge, Mam Tor, Castleton and the surrounding area. In fact anywhere past the Whalley Bridge exit along the A6, where the countryside just opens up in front of your eyes. :)

I thank you for your very kind comment about the Ghost town photo...yes, its a strange thing about the C index..No one has yet been able to figure it out. but when a photo comes up in the voting booth, that's the time to add however many marks a person wishes to give and that increases the c index. But to me? its much more important to know what people like and what their comments are...and how many actually downloaded a photo. Thank you again, it means a lot to me when someone likes my photos...verena

Many thanks, Richie. I really appreciate your comments on "First Manned Spaceflight". There is an entire generation of youngsters out there who take space flight for granted just as we watched the jet age come upon us out of the shadows of Kitty Hawk. The race to put a man on the moon was lead by the Russians for many years. The US may have put a man on the moon first, but the whole world won the race.

The space race of the 1960's left us with the very technology that allows us to share our expressions of art around the world at light speed.

Many thanks for your comment on "Gateshead", Ritchie. Your are dead on. It was Durham Rd. My power converter fried, so I went to the PO for a replacement. Beautiful area.

Thanks, Ritchie. One man's trash isanother man's treasure.

"Rhododendron Sea" is just one of many clusters of Rhoddies in the royal garden. So many varieties. It was almost unbelievable. It was a very windy day and they all danced on the wind.

Glad you enjoyed your visit to "Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinbergh". I used a polarizer to bring out the sky, but we were in the shade of a large cloud. :-/

Thanks for your comment, Ritchie.

Thanks for visiting "The Dove Tree", Ritchie. My first encounter with a tree complete with its own toilet paper.
