Thank you for your comments on "Natures' Song". They are really appreciated and your conclusions are correct. With "Vine Maple" that turns its fall colors along running water the leaves don't turn their normal bright red. The sugars in the leaves don't get cold enough to turn red; subsequently the green chlorophyll turns its natural yellow.
