Hi Dave! I'm delighted that you came by and saw "Wakeboard Bob".
You left such nice comments & and made me feel happy that someone
else liked the image. Please stop by again, Carolyn
** For the next few weeks, I will not be Commenting as much as I should, I Will be looking at ALL of your Picture posts...I apologise from the bottom of my heart for this...Things should be back to 'normal' after the holiday period**
Hey Dave, Yes it would have been nice to get right under the center of that "Ceiling", but unfortunately hindsight wasn't around at the time. I did lose a little of the shot with croppinig and resizing also. It is a very pretty thing though. Thanks for your kind comments.
Thank you for looking at "Streaming Through the Trees" and critiquing it. It indeed was a very hot day. I like your suggestion of going back to that spot for the other three seasons of the year. I hadn't thought of that but I am definitely going to do it. Have a great day! -Jon
Thank you again for all your comments. There are lots of satellite dishes in Morocco and Turkey. They get more channels than I do on cable and you have a choice of many different languages.
Hi Dave, Thanks for your comments on the mosque and the bread. I have to look through my shots to see if I have any worth putting up that are of the floor level of the mosque. I know I do have a few of worshippers in the Sulaymane Mosque.
Thanks for the observations on the Cairo street. I wasn't sure about that one and wanted to see what others might do. I left a comment there about what I thought about dealing with the shot, but as with the produce stand from Turkey, it was kind of a catch the shot now or forget it kind of thing. I appreciate all of your comments and in fact, look forward to them. Thank you. cindy
Hi Dave, How are you? Thank you for all your wonderful comments on my library. Believe it or not, I'm running out of my 'best' shots. Maybe that's why I am experimenting. I've got to get out and take more photos once the rain stops falling in these parts.
Hi Dave. Glad you enjoyed Palisades Sill. I did use a Polarizing filter, and it works even better in the clear mountain air. The contrast was there. I even thought about reducing it, but didn't like it as well.
Dave, I' m so glad that you liked River Cam. Cambridge was one of my favorite places. London was wonderful. Thank you for commenting on the Tower Bridge.
I marvel at the Native American beadwork as in The Rider. Thank you for commenting on it.
Hi Dave, I 'm glad you looked at the Iris and the Cathedral shot. Yes, I didn't have a good shot at the iris because in one direction was the house foundation, and the other way I'd have had to step on some plants. I thought leaving what was in the background there where it was before I messed it up. I could have manipulated the background by blurring it more, but I'll leave that for another time. Thank you for your comments. I have yet to look at your submission on the ceiling yet, but I'm getting there. Just got home from work at midnight. Cindy
I heard something about 'terrorists' but didn't know they were planning to wreck that place. I have avoided the news lately. Spending lots of time here. Ha ha. Cindy
Thanks for the great comments Dave. As to the horizon line on the Grand Old Tree, you may be right, but then it might be that the grass lines are throwing perception off a bit because tree itself is pretty straight. I welcome your comments. Cindy
Hi Dave. Glad you liked the flowers. I was pretty pleased with them, but didn't expect thet much reaction to more flowers. Must be because I'm moving a bit slower, right now.
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

Backwoods Beauty. .... Glad you liked it, Dave. I thought it looked so bright and cheerful amongst all the weeds, and even the weeds looked happy to have her there.
Little Hawkeye ..... Thanks, Dave. I was just thinking the same thing, as he didn't seem to know how to eat very well. I just happened to have a container of nightcrawlers, my son left in the fridge. He was here for a few days during my surgery, to look after Blue.
Anyway, it took a bit of coaxing, but he finally gobbled down every one, and there must have been 9 or 10 of them. Sure hope I didn't overfeed him. It was just like watching a mother bird, only I was the mother. I got a couple of pix when I was first trying, and he was just sitting there, with the worm, dangling from his beak. We have someone in the area, that I've read about, and I'm trying to locate them. He's a pretty good size, but definitely acts more like a baby.
Hi, Is it swealtering hot up there in Canada too? I wanted to stop by and say thank you for stopping by. It's always nice to see that you thought enough to leave a few words when you do. I'm always happy to hear from you. Cindy
Hi Dave, thanks for stopping in at "Vermont barns" and saying hello. Glad to hear you enjoyed this shot and some of my gallery. I appreciate the feedback!
Hi Dave, thanks for your kind comments on Desert Flowers. I apologize for not responding sooner. We've been on holiday for 2 weeks and I decided to leave Mr. Computer at home and take a break for a change. I appreciate your feedback very much. Will soon be uploading shots of our visit to the Hawaiian islands so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks again, anne
why i chose the eagle picture is a mystery to me. it certainly didn't look too good to either the viewers or me. i have so many good ones. thanks, anyway, for your support. i really appreciate it! jen
Hey Dave, Nice to see you back. Thank you for your lovely comments on the Walk and the Pond. Much appreciated as always. I'm off the the Cape (Cod that is) for a week with my family. I hope to get some good shots there while avoiding getting too much sun.
Golden Hawks .... Glad you enjoyed a little bit of history. Those were my real Golden years. Thanks for stopping by, and commenting, Dave. There's one at RMC in Kingston, as well.
I forgot to answer your question about the lighting on Desert flowers. Yep, I'm a realy space case. Actually, The sun was straight across from the end of the fence. I'd give you the location of the image to view again but I didn't understand the instructions on how to create a hot link...oh well. Anyway, no flash, just good ol' sunshine. Thanks again for looking. I've uploaded some shots from our recent trip. Hope you get a chance to see them. Blessings, anne :-)
Hi Dave, Yeah, I'm back and trying some new things. What I need most is a new camera! For now I can blame my poor shots on the camera I have. Ha ha! Thanks for stopping by. Cindy
The Ranch That Was - Forgot to mention that this is from an old Kodachrome slide, that "Neat Image" did an excellent job on.
Glad you enjoyed it, Dave.
Hi Dave, Good to see you around. I'm happy when I see that you've left me a comment. It's hard to catch up with folks when you leave for vacation, but I want to thank you for leaving comments about my submissions even if I don't get to thank you each time, I appreciate you stopping by. Cindy :)
Hawaiian Easter Lily Bud: Thanks for that very kind comment, Dave. You're ever so succint. And thanks for comments on Stick in the Water, too. Blessings, anne :-)
Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)
Hi Dave, Great to see you. Thanks for that great comment you left under my window. LOL I know, I have a 4 MP Kodak, but I can't help thinking I would be more challenged with a DSLR because I could experiment more, but the Kodak does have manual mode too. I just can't seem to get good night shots out of it. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong. I think it really does take 3.2 MP shots even though it says 4 MP. I guess I just wanted to graduate, but if you can get such terrific shots with your camera, then maybe I should just 'look around' as you said and spend the time composing the shots with the camera that I have. I'm conflicted about it, of course. I wouldn't mind having a new camera (Canon Digital Rebel XT), but I don't mind having the money either. Who will win, the frugal pragmatist or the wacky self indulgent photo enthusiast?
Thanks for your confidence in me, Dave. And I did break down and buy the Rebel because Sat. is the last day you can buy one and get a $100 rebate. I bought it on line at GeniusCameras.com. It comes with a memory card, case, full tripod, etc. in a package for $669. (They said rebate already accounted for in price). It seemed like a good deal, so I went for it. I have been perusing the journals and the internet for reviews on DSLRs, checking them out at stores and this Canon seemed about the best deal. The Nikon (D70) was pretty nice, but only 6.1 MP and large in size and I liked the feel of the Pentax (now Samsung) but that used AA batteries, etc.
I hope I did the right thing in going with this on-line company. I can't wait to get it and start playing around. I just saw that Sony has released a 10.2 MP DSLR that will sell for around $900. It has an image stabilization lens too. I expect that I will have to eventually buy another lens for this Canon because I read that shots taken at higher f-stops aren't great. Well, there isn't a camera out there yet that is perfect in every way. I'll let you know what I think when I've had a chance to fool a bit with this new toy. LOL Cindy

Shore Patrol - Glad you liked this.Your time and comments are much appreciated, Dave.
Re slide transfers, I have a dedicated Film/Slide scanner, but have to say, I'm not using it anymore.
Canon recently intoduced a new scanner series, with resolutions equal or better than the dedicated ones, and much faster. I tested an original model, think it was the 4400F, and it was excellent. It will handle 35mm slides and film, at an astounding 3200X6400 dpi resolution, and Selectable, up to 19,200 dpi. Photo print copies are actually better than originals.
While I was testing this one, they intoduced the 8400F which will also handle 120 rollfilm negatives, and I bought that one in the U.S. for
$150. Couldn't believe the price, for such a high quality scanner.
As for cleaning slides, find a camera shop that has a good film cleaning brush, about the width of the film portion, and a separate blower ball, similar to an ear syringe. Dust doesn't come off a slide, the way it does from a lens, and tiny lens brush.
It has to be loosened with a proper brush, and then blown off.

Thanks Dave for commenting on the original lily. As I said, I wasn't sure what to do and I wasn't sure which one was better. Now I see that maybe the original could have been dealt with in a different manner, but I really wasn't sure what the best thing to do would be because I found the background distracting. I am glad people offered suggestions because it really gives me a handle on how to go about doing this right and understanding what makes an image more appealing. Thank you for all your comments. They are more than welcome. Cindy
Dave, you gave a high compliment when you said Storm at the Mission gave you lots to think about. I thank you! In regard to how I gave it that foreboding look, I just tried several different methods in PSP til I saw the feel I was looking for. Again, thanks! - Patty
Hi Dave, Thanks for you nice comments on the blue water. Actually, it ended up as such because I had captured some large rocks in front and they came out blurry, but the water was nice and clear, so I cropped just the water. The droplet looking spots are just bubbles.
thanks, dave for looking at lava rocks. queen's bath is one of my favorite spots. one could photograph there for a very long time. i'm so glad you like it. jen
Hi Dave, Thanks so much for your comment on Puddle Duck. She wasn't very cooperative and I couldn't get any more shots of her. LOL It was one of those shots that I wasn't sure of until I got it into the computer and then I felt good about it. I should go down to the lake and see if I can find her. She hangs around there with her buddies. LOL
Oh, never buy ANYHTHING from Genius Photo! I cancelled my order for the Canon Rebel after I discovered at resellerratings.com that they have an overall rating of 0.24 on a scale of 1 to 10! Thank goodness they hadn't charged my credit card five days from the order. I re-ordered at a place with a 9.68 rating; Newegg.com. I hope that was a better choice. I get a 1G memory card with the camera and 3 day shipping for $9 from CA. I did lose out on the $100 rebate from Canon, but I didn't want to wait until they had another promotion at Canon.
Hey Dave, thanks for sharing about the practice of home building in stages in Canada. It's been interesting to hear all the speculation and comments from people about that crazy buried house. I'm inspired to drive back there at some point and investigate further. anne :-)

Yea Dave, I'm so glad to have someone look at the photos of the area who has been there (Peggy's Cove.) The Halifax area is so gorgeous. We went there on a Nor'east cruise so there was very limited time there and I would love to go back and spend a week in the area some time. Blessings, anne :-)

I'm glad you liked Vase, Dave. It was a hard capture 'cause the kayak kept blowing around in the breeze and current. Anyway, thank you for your compliment- I enjoy your work so it means a lot!
Dave, I appreciate your kind words at Nature's Fan as well as the rest in the gallery. That was really nice of you to say and I'm happy you enjoyed them. - Patty
Hi Dave, Good to see you at My Rebel. I haven't had time to play with it much yet. I tried some shots yesterday and they were all blurry. I had some settings wrong. You said in French that you anticipate more good images to come. N'est pas?
Hey Dave, thanks for stopping by "Bells of San Juan" and leaving your nice comments. Unfortunately, my connection is so slow that the size I load is all I can get on here. Maybe I should hold off posting till I get a faster ISP.
Thanks for your observations on "Fishing Village" about the waste of space on the gravel in the foreground. I don't remember, but I'm guessing it was the only way to get that particular shot. Or it could have been one of those shoot-now-think-later deals! LOL. Not the best photo for sure, but it was a great scene anyway and I did my best to capture the flavor of a place that seemed like a step out of time. Thanks for stopping in and sharing your thoughts. I always appreciate your input. anne :-)

Hello Dear Caedes Friend, I will be away with business and ministry for a few weeks so I won't be available to respond to comments or leave any critiques. I will check in when I can but wanted to let you all know that I'm not ignoring you, just not available. Bless you, anne :-)

Why thank you Dave. I'm so glad you enjoyed 'Prickly Pear". I wasn't sure about posting it - I didn't know how well it would be welcomed . Thanks- Eileen
Hi Dave,
Glad you liked the posting Waterlilies 1 ....This image was shot early morning which makes nicer lighting...I will be interested to see your image of lilies from PEI...I can imagine there are many photo opps in PEI....gerry...
Cheers, Dave! I'm thrilled that you liked the Mad...Moth. He was really amazing. I'm pretty sure that was a male. The females are lighter in color. Thanks for taking a look at him and leaving the comment. As always I appreciate your input. Cindy
Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel.

Hi Dave! How are you? I'm happy to see you stopping by some of my posts and leaving those really wonderful comments. The mushroom is called a pig skinned puff ball. I only know that because a caedesian contacted me and wanted me to send him the unresized image. I guess he's into fungi and mushrooms and he told me that. I am using the Canon Rebel more and more now. Most of the shots I take with that need none or minimal adjustments. I'm just getting the hang of it and I'm on the look out for a telephoto lens. I hope you're doing fine and I'm happy to find posts from you from time to time. I like the abandoned building by the sea a lot. I thought it was moody in nature and I like those kinds of shots.

Thanks Dave- Always so good to hear from you. You're right about the light . It would have been totally different in just a matter of minutes. Glad I was there at the right time.- Eileen

Thank you for your sentiments on the NY Pree 911 image. I know the whole world was changed 5 years ago Dave. I believe that terrible destuction has brought the peoples of the world closer to one another in many ways. Blessings, anne :-)

April in Paris and Seine - Both Banks.
Glad you enjoyed the Paris shots, Dave Hard to believe it was 40 years ago. I enjoyed seeing them again, too.
Thanks for stopping by, and the comments.
