Hi drgibson and a warm welcome to Caedes. Thank you for the comment you left on "Majestic". Eagles are seen coast to coast in Canada eh;-) Nice to hear you picked a Canadian girl to marry...me too. No need to be jealous...I don't do it for a living;-)
LOL Darryl. I am a Canadian Girl too! Been married already two times too many, lol.
Tks for your comments on Chrysanthemum! I am glad you liked the image!

HI Don, thanks for commenting on 'The Badlands'. Im chuffed to hear that the mini-hollywood did get it right and it does look like the western plains of the states like its supposed to :)
Hi Don, thank you for liking "With a Heart of Gold"! I offer you a big WELCOME to Caedes and I hope you enjoy the wonderful people on this site as much as I do!!! Thanks for stopping by for a visit and please do again! Sincerely, Marilyn
Good morning Don
Many thanks for your appreciative comments on "Golden Trumpet Vine". For a deadly plant it has so much beauty. This photo was taken in the Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens, Brisbane, a couple of weeks ago, and all the plants seemed to be at their peak. My wife was so very patient with me as I kept stopping to take photos and oooh and aaah at the display of beauty.
Enjoy your day

Thanks for viewing & commenting on "Wings". Being there, it felt a little 'Hitchcockian'...against the ominous sky, the gulls were flying low to the ground, suspended in a strong headwind. With the wind at my back, I walked right out in front of them to take the shot and they just surrounded me on all sides.
Hello Don,
Thank you for your comments about “two’s Company”. I used a 200mm prime lens with a +1 dioptre close up lens attached, The exposure was 25 seconds at F32. I’m pleased you like it.
Hello Don, thanks for commenting on "My Lovely Flower"! I totally agree with you on the busy background. Maybe, had I zoomed in a little closer and trimmed that perimeter some, it may have been ok! Better yet, I'll try again with this in mind! Thanks! Sincerely, Marilyn
Hi Don, once again I thank you, this time for commenting on "Charismatic". That was a fun rose, as it turned out! People responded in a very positive way. This pleases me! Have a nice day! Sincerely, Marilyn
My goodness Don, you are certainly traveling the galleries today! I am very glad that you liked "Among the Leaves" and I thank you again! Sincerely, Marilyn
Don, further investigation I see! I will be filling up your post page with gratitude I am afraid! However, thanks for commenting on "Lavender Lovely"! Sincerely, Marilyn
Good morning, Don...thank you so much for stopping by to comment on 'Anticipation' and also 'Until Tomorrow'...I sure appreciate your positive feedback...you were asking about fishing in that pond...I have seen people drop a line there but not sure that they're catching anything worthwhile...tks again.:Pat.
"Yea-teha-hei" Don,
Thanks for visiting "home" by stopping by my Navajo Country. Sunset on the Mittens. Isn't this place a wonderful place? I lived in Mesa Arizona and every yerar we took a weelk off at Thanksgiving and went to the valley to relax and photograph

Thank you Don for your comments on "Lord of the Skies". I really appreciate them.
The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move. This is the artist’s way of scribbling; “Kilroy was here” on the wall of the final and irrevocable oblivion through which he must someday pass.
William Faulkner
Good morning Don
My thanks for your comments on "Golden Bunny rose", and am pleased that you liked it. Your eyes must be better than mine - could I trouble you to give me a pointer for what I am looking for with the noise you describe?
My wife is the rose person in our house - she tends them and instructs me in fertilising and weeding, albeit I enjoy the visuals and scents - so the positive comments about the beauty of the flower have been passed to her.
Enjoy your day

Don;
You are correct. The Colorado National Monument is so unknown that you are the first person to know of it. I have even had people that have lived in Colorado for the biggest part of their lives tell me that they have never heard of this place. Maybe it will stay as pristine for many years to come. My last report on tourist traveling through the Monument was 250,000 a year. That is only 684 a day. Assume that three passengers per car. Not to much traffic to destroy the area. Yet.

Hi Don, I see the wasp caught you attention ,lol. Thanks for your comments. My wife found him the yard, he was still alive but moved very little, this wasp around here bores into the ground and is quite big. If he hadn't been hurt i would never have gotten this shot. There you have it, have a great day. Dwight.
Hi Don, these flowers "Purple Glow", are African Violets (Arctotis Compositae). They love sandy soil, I don't really know too much more about them, sorry! Thanks for your comments and please stop by for another visit! Sincerely, Marilyn
Y'A'A'T'E'E' H Don. You don't have to be a native to respect and enjoy the way of the Navajo. I am not a native but I feel as close to this land as anyone can. Enjoy the fact that you have been there and hopefuly left it in a better state than when you arrived.

thanks for comments - much appreciated
I must agree with you 100%, This is creation at its finest. Antelope Canyon #3 is my favorite of this series. The colors in this image defy all description. Hope that you keep looking at this series.

Hi Don, this sculpture was made to make a tribute to the fishing people from Matosinhos ( a town near Oporto and the sea).
The holes is big so, birds can fly across it.
It is a awesome sculpture that moves with the wind who comes from the sea.....
Hi Don, thank you so much for liking "A Lavender Gem"! I appreciate your kinds words!! Please stop by for another visit! I really do have to break the cycle of pinks, but somehow the pinks always turn out to be my favorites! Sincerely, Marilyn

Glad you liked the dandylion! ...just finished digging a bunch out of our yards today after work. Funny how they're such an annoyance in the lawn ..but I rather liked the one discovered on the forest path.
Don, thanks for the tips on photography. You know quite a bit more that I do, but unfortunately I don't think knowledge is my biggest hindrance. It all sounds good, but I am not sure the current camera I use can handle all that. I have no circular polarizer, I can not manually change the exposure speed, and I have no control over the depth of field. I could try that zoom trick, but the camera barely zooms at all. Does a higher ISO mean more light (hence less depth of field) or less? Thanks again!
hi don, glad you like "meadow's jewellery". i don't know what they're called, maybe bj does ;-). i was just strolling in an uncut meadow when this plant caught my eye. unfortunately it was a windy day, which is definitely not favorable for well focused close-ups as i would love them to be... :p
It is an old digital Olympus. It has 4.1 megapixels, which was good for its time, but so-so now. It is always rather fuzzy, and I have close to no shutter control (I can tell it to shoot at its fastest, which is 1/800th of a second, or I can let it do its thing). It does have a small ISO adjustment area, but it also has this wonderfully terrible chip that, no matter what you do, will always allow sufficient light. I have become fairly dependatnt upon it, sadly... I am saving up for a 20D, but at my age, it will take a little bit longer. Thanks!
Please forgive the late response to your comment about Antelope Canyon #5. I don't know how I get so far behind. I am happy that you have enjoyed the series, The best one (I think) is still to be posted. You were wondering if many words are spoken here. Not when I have been there and those that are are done in a whisper. All of my images have been captured in the upper canyon. I once wandered down to the lower canyon and looked down into the darkness and at a ladder that looked 100 years old. At my age I decided that I didn't need this experience. You must have been there to know about the lader.

Thank you for your support in his series. Antelope Canyon #6 is one of my favorite images. My all time favorite one will be posted tomorrow . I am thrilled by the fact that you have enjoyed this journey into the unknown with me. My ability to create photos of theses beautiful places is only on loan to me from a higher being. Someday I will be required to give then back. Until then I thank Him every morning and then attempt to show the world as a beautiful place. Thanks again for the support.

Matosinhos I was the contractor engineer of this sculpture.
The sculpture was constructed in the Portuguese City of Matosinhos.
It was designed by Janet Echman, she lives at USA.
The circle has 45 m diameter and 25 ton.
It is supported by three piles, the main pile is 50 m heigth.
It is a wonderfull to see the net dancing on the wind.
PS:No birds ware get caught in the net
Hey! Thanks Don for your kind comment on my 'rainforest'. The foggy weather in the forest was very interesting for a photographer, but not for the walkers ;-)
Hi Don, thanks for helping me to wake the others up! LOL! I discovered that bending the petals back slightly lended a little interest, a little character to the image. What do you think? Yes I agree that this time of the yr, people love to be outdoors and to do things other than computing. Maybe this could influence a drop in comments!! Just a guess. Thanks for stopping by for a visit and for a little humor! Sincerely, Marilyn
Don,
I would like to thank you so very much for all of the kind words that you left for me, and others, to read about my Antelope Canyon series. I am truly humbled by the way you followed the series to the end. I have often made the decision, to leave Caedes but the enthusiasm that you ( and others) show for my images has kept me here. This is my fourth or fifth series that I have posted. Although the responses have always been good, NONE has received the wonderful responses that Antelope Canyon has. This series had brought back many memories of Annie and my trek through this magical place. When I posted my last image and shut down the series, which was difficult to do, I felt that I had said goodbye to an old friend. With deep humility, and bowed head, Thank you so very much for your support.

Thanks for telling me about Caedes! This is fun but it is hard to wait 24 hours to post another photo. Oh well, I guess I have plenty of other things to do in my spare time, right??? See you soon!
Hey Don! What zoom? You think I used my zoom to get the "What's for Lunch" shot??? Well, yeah, actually I did - I kept as much space between us as possible!!! Thanks for the comments!!!!!!!
Hey!! Don't make fun of my kitty!! He is beautiful!! Hahaha! Better than Jersey anyways!! JK. Well, i like your pictures, very good! I wish I had a better camera. How much are you selling yours for?? lol L8R!!

Don, I've been on another trip since 5/17, so I'm running a bit late. Many thanks for your kind comments on my Great Sand Dunes at Sunset picture. I'm very pleased you enjoyed this shot! Mike
Hi there, thank yu so much for your comment on my Mossy Tree...you have lived in ORegon before? Well it seems the ferns and mosses are climbing trees more and more LOL...
Don, I really appreciate your comments on "Desert Sunrise". For another perspective of the same formations look at my post for tonight "At the Giants Feet"

Hey Don - on "Days Gone By", I took the color out of this photo, but if you look at the original shot there wasn't much color to begin with - it was a really gray day. Thanks for checking it out!
Ha-Ha, on "Which Way Should I Go?" -- Haley wasn't with me when I took this -- Good thing, right?? She stayed home to make a snowman while Matthew and I went "picture hunting"!!
One more time and I think I'm caught up! Thank you for the very nice comments on "Outrageous Orange" - you know I value your opinion!!! I thought you might recognize this flower - I have pictures also of the exact same tulips you have posted on here - great place for photos, right?
Hey!! Thanx for the comment about Jupiter!! lol Neways, about his saddle, we have one in the attic... we're thinking about breaking him in in about a month! lol neways i'll c u l8r, prolly on Sat.. i kno u can't wait!! jk
Hi Don, many thanks for comments on "Pink Rainbow"! Yes, I do think the sunlight and myself were on pretty good terms that day because I was happy with the shot too. Of course the colors didn't deter me either LOL! Sincerely, Marilyn
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.
Hi again - I didn't know you were such a poet!!! Thank you for the "words" you left on "Perfect Ending"! Glad you liked my sunset - it's one of my favorites!
Thanks for the fun Comment on The Big One.. That Iris is nearly twice the size of a normal one.. Puns don't bother me, nor does good natured teasing.. You will find some of my comments like that..
Thanks for your comments on "reflections - 2". It gave me the chance to catch up on your gallery. Boy, you really have some fine shots, Don. I don't always get to see all the new images, so I look forward to catching up with my favorites!
