Thanks for dropping by "Desert Stroll", Gerry. I was looking at the full size version of this, today. What I thought was a blemish in the background is actually the Sandia Tramway. The 1.3 mile cable span is also visible in the Caedes reduction as is a lower span The light reveals the precipitous towers of rock on the west side of the mountain range.

The City of Albuquerque has annexed a number of these sites around the city as nature trails for walking or riding mountain bikes only.

Thanks for dropping by "Chamisa Blossoms", Gerry. It is a bit late to see these blossoms in the desert, but it has been an unusual year. The plants have been getting a couple of minutes of light rain two or three times a week. Just enough to keep the flowers coming. Soon, it will be too dry, but they will return in the fall with a slightly brighter yellow color. That fall color is noticeably different. I thought it was an illusion, but the wife has pressing of both, and the fall plat is more of golden yellow, while the spring version is almost as pale as straw.

Thanks for dropping by "Summer's Here", Tom. I raised this from a seed. The blossoms get almost as big as a pie tin, as evidenced in the link. I almost called this "Day of the Trifids", but the generation gap may be too wide. The plants stamen is a little more than 3" long. If I put the macro lens on, I'd be hard pressed to get the entire stamen.

Last year I took a picture of my 11-yo niece with her entire face buried in the blossom. I'll try to find it and post it. If I can't find it, she flies in Tuesday and we can just stage a redo.

Many thanks for visiting "White Rose of Sharon", Gerry. An opening in the tree next to it formed a little spot light to help with the division of the background. This is the brightest white cultivar that I have found so far, to. Unfortunately, I don't know who developed it. Fortunately, I will plant some seeds from this bush in the new flower bed, soon.

Many thanks for our comment on "Hibiscus Syriacus", Gerry. This is such a beautiful plant, but it is not as vibrant as its tropical brothers. Unlike the tropicals, it really fills up with blooms.
