Thanks for adding "Evening With The Heron Rework ", "Evening with the Heron" and, "Bat" to your faves Pat. I appreciate that. You asked what I did different with the rework of Evening with the Heron. I simply added some grasses where the heron was walking. Felt like it needed a little something extra.
Thanks for putting "Dragon Fire 2" in your faves, Pat. I appreciate it. I believe I need to work a little more on such things before I present them in the future. In other words, I need to refine my skill on it. Looking at it, in my opinion, it looks a little out of proportion.
Pat, you are so sweet, love your comment on Tree in River. Not to worry, we were on a huge open porch with a roof next to the river, no danger for us, just pure joy in seeing natures beauty.
Pat, you are incredibly observant and have a wonderful sense of humor, for "What is he thinking?" I loved your comment "He is probably wondering how close it is to Hump Day", I think you are right! Thanks for viewing and commenting,I appreciate it.
Hey Pat Thanks for taking the time to comment on several of my pictures. As you can tell I shoot mostly nature so this is my time of year to get out and shoot some pictures. The weather hear hasnt been the best but the few outings I have been on have been productive.
Thanks for taking the time to comment on the picture Monarch This 560mm images dark background was created by closing the aperture down to F-13 and using a flash to light the insect.
For Purple and Pollen I used a 400mm lens with a 1.4x converter making for a 560mm setup. The long lens setup made for a much safer working distance from the bees than I would get using a 100mm macro. For a little more depth of field I was stopped down to F-16 and used a flash for fill light with a shutter speed of 1/640. Thanks for commenting
Thanks very much Pat for viewing and commenting on my Shadows photo. I must say the above comments about rain are absolutely hilarious, as if the message sent to you would somehow appease the rain gods to take a break!
Thanks for commenting on Arrow. My favorite spot for shooting the Des Moines River is high on the bank looking down on the water using a large telephoto lens.
Thanks for the comments on Honey Maker. The main advantage in using a telephoto for a macro is the greater working distance to the subject, handy for bees and skittish insects like dragon flies. The downside is it is a heavier setup to pack around.
Thanks for the comments on A Touch Of Yellow. By using a fast shutter speed 1-640th and a small aperture F-10 the flash had enough power to light the flower but everything behind the flower became extremely under exposed or black.
Hello dear friend Pat, Hope that you're doing well, as we haven't seen a photographic contribution from you recently at Caedes. Thanks anyhow for faving my South Limburg 2 image. You know that it isn't a cliché when I say that it's highly appreciated by me!
