Hi Jen ... Many thanks for your kind words on my recognition as AOTM. It was a pleasant surprise & one I will cherish for a long time. I appreciate your frienship & support. Some day I'll make it back to Arizona ... I'd love to see the Grand Canyon in person. Thanks again.
No i handheld..The Tokina being constant f2.8 allowed a reasonably fast shutter speed..The build quality is fantastic too..I got it for roughly $200 off ebay and it's brand new..Can't wait for spring and doing macro on the bugs...R.
Jen, Thanks for the comment on my Macaw shot from Brookfield. My husband and I lived in Forest Park when first married so we were quite familiar with Riverside. In fact my brother and sister-in-law were married in Riverside. Sorry to say that Brookfield is having hard times these days - cutting staff and closing exhibits - sad.
Thanks Jen...I used a Canon 7D and the Tamron 70-300 SP VC Lens..Which I've just sold and I'm getting a Sigma 150-500 as I'm really getting into Birding ..R.
Thank you for the nice comment on my Sea gull photo. My new lens seems to work pretty good but there have not been many sunny days here in Missouri for me to go out and take photos of birds in flight, or my songbirds.
..thanking you in advance for your comments. Please know that all your comments are appreciated....." Live well, love much, laugh often!" .... mygallery
They are culling these grey squirrels Jen..They are spreading a virus which our native reds are dying from..At the hide there are about fifty of them stealing the food from the bird feeders. They really are pests,Always fighting each other.....R.
Ref: "Not The First Bird To Land On This Post" I really liked this one. I felt it should have scored well into the 70's but thks to the little ass hole who is giving out zeros.....nevermind.
People aren't going to remember the things you do. They're going to remember how you made people feel. Be kind, gracious, and appreciative. Dan Winters - Photographer.

Hi Jen, Thanks for the compliment on 'Kuala Lumpur in a distance'. At first, the original shot was nothing like that. After i put it some HDR going, the rays and colors revealed. That's why i like about HDR; eye-catching :D

Thank you Jen for your comment on "Bird of Peace for cynlee...(Cindy)". I was surprised at all the responses I got in the threads also. I think I helped calm down the negative side of this site just a little bit. I am posting again and glad to be a proud member of Caedes. And yes, let the Peace begin.
Thanks Jen for commenting on one of my favorite landscapes of the American "Wild West". . Towering monoliths exist within a vast plateau-and-canyon panorama. You can experience sheer-walled, red rock canyons along the twists and turns of Rim Rock Drive, where you may spy bighorn sheep and soaring eagles. Most tourists go to the well known Parks but this little out of the way jewel you can explore without any crowds. Glad you enjoyed it! Diane
