Thanks for your comment on "The River, The Ship and The Moon". I was very pleased with the shot but it was complete luck. I was there to take pictures of the big 800th Anniversary Fireworks Display and happened to be in the right place at the right time.
G'day Josh,
Thanks for the considerable compliment.
I use a Canon Powershot S3 IS, it's not a digital slr, it's a superzoom, one lens that does a lot. :) It's great for daytime or night time shots but it produces a lot of grain/noise in lowlight or dusk/dawn settings. Which is a bugger because I love taking photos in that light. It's compact and it has a lot of useful presets in it, a pretty good camera to learn digital on really. I'm already planning for my first digital slr sometime next year, got to save save save first. :)
Mikel.
Thanks for the comment on Given a choice what would you photograph!!! I don't watch Big Brother, so I didn't know who she was. Thanks for the info. :o)
I'm glad you liked the Crater Lake picture. I wasn't in either a plane or a helicopter. That is the view from the rim of the lake. It is a HUGE crater. The water is very cold and crystal clear. It is also very deep. If you ever make it to Oregon be sure to schedule time to see Crater Lake. That part of Oregon is filled with spectacular lakes and mountains and the wildlife that live in/on them.
Have a great day.

me again... just saw your comment on "Summer Dream", thanks! and to answer your question it was taken at the beach, the tide was going down, and there was an area with rocks and seaweed with water trapped inside, maybe that's what gave the impression it might have been a lake...
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Aloha Josh and thank you for your visit to 'fishing tales'. Yes! we do eat alot of them, but we also sell some to a lot of people who cannot afford the cost at the stores and make money so we can live the same way that we all have come a custom to. This is not a sport! It's a way of life, and if to many people come from all over the world to our little rocks in the middle of the Pacific ocean and fish for SPORT! There will be nothing left for us to live. Fishing is the ONLY ressource we have left. When that is gone- We are DEAD!! You are always welcome to our table to eat the fish you catch and we will enjoy your friendship. Thank you Josh, you are a good friend.
Thanks for your nice words on 'sea food'. Josh? If you put the sea weed on your hook you may catch one about 10 to 15 lbs. and the fish will give you 50 lbs. of fight! Did you get an award for the 2fish that you caught? Do they get bigger and how much?
