Thanks Doug for the comments on my picture Floating Kermit The ponds here in Iowa are starting to thaw and signs of life should return so let the pictures begin.
Thanks Doug for the comments on my picture "Ring Tailed Chickadee" My camera setup for the bird blind was a 300mm lens with a 2x converter a bit much for such a big critter.
Thanks Doug for commenting on my picture "River View". I can count on one hand how many times a year I put a wide angle lens on my camera but this was one of them.
Thanks Doug for commenting on my picture "Ducky Down" I used the Canon 100-400mm zoom lens with a Canon 1.4x converter mounted on a Canon 5D III for this picture.
Thanks Doug for commenting on my picture "Two Tone Dragon" Sneaking up on these skittish little guys using a 100mm macro wasn't working for me. My camera setup for insects, frogs, and other pond stuff is the use of long focal length lenses, typically 400-600mm.
Thanks Doug for taking the time to comment on my picture "Old Stone Bridge" This bridge in Story City Iowa was shot with the Canon 5DIII with a Canon 16-35 lens
Thanks Doug for the comments on my picture "Bird Blind Blues" I believe this bird to be an Indigo Bunting. The setup I used on this dreary day was a Canon 300mm 2.8 lens with a Canon 2.0x III extender giving me a very heavy 600mm setup that I attached to a monopod. Do to the lack of sunlight that day I set the Canon 5D III in aperture priority at an F-stop of 8.0 and an ISO of 3200. Even with an ISO of 3200 my shutter speed was only 320th of a second, less than half of what I would like it to be. On the bright side the birds didn't seem to mind the weather and the lighting was very even yielding several keepers besides this one.
Thanks Doug for the comments on "Bubbles" For the camera buffs out there that are inquiring about the equipment I use this shot was taken with one of my favorite lens setups. The Canon 300mm F4L with a Canon 1.4x extender. The longer the lens the greater the working distance from the subject. No scare and no smell.
Thanks Doug for commenting on my picture "Gray" Wendell 's ID of the bird was spot on, it's a Gray Catbird shot at about 20 feet with a 560mm lens. Bob
Thanks Doug for the kind comment on "Mouth Full" For this type of fast action photography I used the fast focusing Canon 7D with my fastest lens the Canon 400mm 5.6 L.
Thanks Doug for commenting on my picture "Dove Profile" If you can catch one of these birds in the sun there is a rainbow of color in the feathers. Bob
Thanking you so much for the fave of "Getting to the Point" Doug. I just love seeing the little bees and butterflies do their thing. Butterflies have been scarce so far but maybe they will come in soon before the bees get all the good stuff.
Thank you for your support and thanks for faving "Lights on the Water Revised". I'm glad you liked it and I appreciate it that you liked the original version also.
Thanks for the comments on "The Golfer & The Teacher," Gibbs. I too have had several holes in one in mini golf. I did have one years ago on a regular golf course. Par 3 195 yards, 4 Iron. I even have the sign from the golf course. The hole was named "Bogey Bottom."
Hello Doug, many thanks for the kind Words on "Old laundry cottage" I appreciate it a lot and thank you for the Wellcome back, it made me feel good beeing here again.
Hi Doug ... Many thanks for faving "Beautiful Eyes". Raising & training Labrador Retrievers over the years has given me so much insight that 'all dogs' have feelings & emotions ... just like humans do. Dogs are truly a blessing ... I guess that's why we call them 'man's best friend'. I appreciate your kind words too. Hope some day you will have a dog to share your life with. ~~~~~ Sherree
