Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill

It's very much appreciated, and I'm extremely flattered that it's in your favourites :) Once I figure out how to work photoshop-type programs successfully, I'll try it out on a darker background and test out contrasts. Thanks again, all the best - Natalie

I just finished cleaning up and throwing out 10 years worth of papers and junk out of my filing system. Hi Nina - thanks for your comments on 'Meet Hamish'. I would have liked to have seen him closer up but he was busy eating his lunch in the middle of the field. I think he decided there was more food there than over by the fence! lol!

The beer urges me on, the bewitching beer, which sets even a wise man to singing and to laughing gently and rouses him up to dance and brings forth words which were better unspoken.

Hi Nina...thanks for visiting ~bollinger mill~. It is about 1.5 hours from our house. It is a neat place to visit....Lot's of green all around. I am glad that you were able to visit there with me :)
Here is a bit of history on the mill:
The Mill
Today's mill is the third one built on this site. The first two were built by George Frederick Bollinger, who came to this area in 1797 from North Carolina. He received a 640-acre land grant from Don Louis Lorimer, the Spanish commandant at Cape Girardeau. In return for the land, Bollinger agreed to develop the land and to bring more settlers from the east. He returned to North Carolina and in 1800, brought 20 families including six of his brothers and their families back to settle along the banks of the Whitewater River.

HI there Nina...sorry for the delay in thanking you for the kind words on ~silent sentry~. This was taken at the National Cemetery not far from our home. I just saw this fawn laying by the stone and began shooting far, far away and gradually made my way closer until I could have reached out and touched it. It was a very surreal moment. I am glad that I was able to share that moment with you!! :o)
Hi again Nina, many thanks for stopping by and leaving such warm words on ~look what the bird found~. It was a cold, damp day but it was fun meeting Gregg and being so close to our symbol of freedom! Liberty was beautiful as well as vocal ;=)
Hi Nina...thanks for visiting ~buddha~. what a beautiful day that was......all the way around. The weather, the pier, the drive up and down the canyon, and of course, the company. :o)
This image has very warm, fuzzy memories for me as well!
