Hey Ole, thanks for the comment on (Caedes on the Water). I'm glad you liked it and it's nice to see you taking advantage of our new italic priveledges!
Thanks Ole for your comment on st. marys... glad u like it... it is on an odd angle because i was trying to avoid the shot with power lines running through it... :) .... J
Hi Ole; Thanks for looking and commenting on "Rivers of Golden Light". What you are seeing here is very small yellow flowers that bloom for about a week and then the whole plant dies, the environment there is quite inhospitable and they only bloom right after a good rain. The Post Mistress in Mitchell Ore. calls me to let me know when they are blooming and I make a quick 200-mile trip to photograph them. The soil is a reddish clay deposited during a volcanic eruption millions of years ago. There seems to be enough dirt in the gullies to support the flowers but not on the hills themselves. Thanks again for looking I'm grateful.
thanks for your comment on my reflections of a summers day. I tried that manipulation and I didnt particularly like it, it just looked like a lake photo with motion blur, you couldnt tell it was water. But if you like it, you could do the manip and feel free to submit it :)
Thanks for your comments on "Loch Ducks" and glad you liked it.The sun reflected off lilly pads in the foreground and I was not going to put it up for that reason but was persuaded to.
Hi Ole: Thanks for your comments on "Mr. Redwing Waits. I love photographing animals and birds that have a large circle of fear (they run or fly before you get within, up close and personal, photography range). Getting close enough is always magical.
Hello Ole! Thanks for the nice comments on my Mingus Mill 2 photo. I'm glad that you like it. It was shot at ISO 64, f 8 and about a 1 second exposure.

Thank you for the comments on "Mirimar".It was once a convent i believe and there are old shrines and such around the grounds with some nice small bridges going over ponds.
Thank you for your comments and compliments on my posting Bracebridge 7. You asked if the background was converted to greyscale. It was not. The entire image was and remains a color shot. You'll need to look closely at the bark on the branches of the near trees/shrubs to see a bit of red. It was an unusual scene, one that I nearly missed driving by...striking enough to cause me to stop, back up and bale out with my camera. The black railway tressel was so striking against the white snow. I fear that I have not captured it in a manner of its deserving but I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you click the link you'll be able to see where (geographically) the shot was taken for general interest. The location was Bracebridge Ontario, Canada. Use the zoom controls on the left of the page to move out to a point that you might otherwise recognize. Where you see the words "Cedar LN" ...that was pretty much the vantage. Enjoy.
Ole, thank you for your compliments on my photo Bracebridge 8. I do have more in reserves from this photoshoot however ... I think I'll move away from the falls to present some other shots from that day.
Reflection of Pan is a statue of a mythical young Pan running with a fish in his hand. I'm not sure if he has a tail but he does appear to be nude. The statue was weathered and I thought that this angle was more interesting. Thanks Ole for your comments and support. I'm glad that you like it.

June, Morwyn and Ppigeon. Thank you al for your comments on this image of Moon Over the Teatons.. I chose the gray background because I have received a number of negative feedbacks about my selection of colors that I have used as my backgrounds .This seem's strange to me as all of the background colors have been selected directly from the image that it surrounds. When I assembled this image I thought I would use a neutral gray and see if the feedback would change. Guess what? Wrong! I guess that I can't win them all. I guess that I will go back to pleasing myself.
June, as much as I would have loved to use black as my background it would have distracted from the main idea of using a panoramic frame as an idea that was fresh and new.
Oh well back to the drawing board. Thanks to the three of you for your feedback.

Thanks for the comments on my 2 latest shots. I'm pretty new at photography (my main hobby is programming, but thought I'd get into photography for a change), so the advice was much appriciated. Nice to see someone else from PA on the site too.
thanks for the comments on "Strange House (Rework). It's not actually an illustration. It's a manipulated photo of a house out on the Natchez Trace. I'm glad you liked the new version though :)
Thanx for your nice comment on "From the shadow ", Yes I guess it's a bit different, that's why I enjoy doing this kind of snapshots, though they usualy don't get good ratings. :o)
Ole;
Thankyou for taking the time to visit my, Pawnee Buttes, the western end of the, Great Plains. This is a very special image to me because I tried on three diffeent ocassions over four years to find a road that would lead me to this area.

Thanks, Ole - I'm really happy that "Tao of Kitty" made it into your favs. I was happy with the outcome and am thrilled that others are liking it, too. :)
Ole;
Thank you for stopping by and looking at my Morning Light and Watercress. There was only one thing better than your comment. That was being there and seeing it in person.

If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.
Thanks Ole for commenting on "Latin FLare." The hands were extremely hard to do, and I agree that it is the weakest part of the picture. Thanks for your input.
Thank you for your evaluation of my first picture! I agree the border is a personal preference, and the only reason I put one on was for experimentation purposes. I finally got my hands on a digital camera, so that's why you havent seen any pictures from me before. Thanks again for your comments.
Hi Ole, and thanks for your kind comment on "St Cyr's". Some areas of the roof aren't as sharp as I would have liked, but overall I didn't think they detracted too much from the image. I appreciate your remarks - thank you :-)
Thanks for your comment on View to black sea! I'm not a great photographer but I like to take photoes and I estimate your opinion and advice. Have a nice day!

The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking. - Brooks Anderson
Thanks for your comments on the manipulated panoramic of Pittsburgh. I was indeed lucky to catch such a clear day! I once heard a fact that Pittsburgh has fewer sunny days than Seattle... whether that is true or not I do not know! I am going to have to go back and reupload some panoramics now that there is the possibility to upload widescreen shots. Thanks again!
