RogDot - Thank you for faving 'Cotton Hollow'. One of my favorite spots, I've been there a number of times with camera gear. So, this time I went with the intention of capturing some fall colors with bracketed exposures to see what the HDR outcomes would look like. Thad
Roger - Thanks for faving 'Hanging Glacier'. Fascinated by the rugged texture of the glaciers, I was pleased that the details were visible in this shot. Thad
Thank-you Roger I appreciate the praise and fav you gave on "Creeping Trees" :))) I love the old horror movies! You're right about the bit of over exposure. I had a tough time with most of my shots that day. The sun was so bright and the shade was so deep in those woods. I don't have a lot of experience shooting in those conditions and I'm not sure how to compensate with the camera settings yet. I will go back and figure it out though! Thanks again :) 'Lisa
Hi Roger! Thank-you for your input on 'What a tangled web we weave' I will have to get some chop sticks and Hershey's syrup next time I go to the woods. I agree about off-set compositions but this shot was the one out of several that had the best clarity and didn't have enough play around the edges to edit it that way with a crop. The dark corners are actually a gradient and clone stamp etc to cover where I cropped it outside the image, he was originally hanging straight up and down. Thanks again~ your comments are always my favorites :))) 'Lisa
Hi Roger! Thankyou for your comment on Bath at Night. I am a little disappointed in myself that you can detect movement as i cant see it but i imagine it was due to the fact that i dont have a remote control. I did however use a tripod! I can definately do wrong! You should see some of the dreadful shots i reject. I dont think its a credit to my skill as a photographer but to my skill to pick only the best ones to post. I am merely being sneaky! Thankyou again for your comments :)

Gah! You spotted some noise :( Im so foolish! I should have run it through a filter before i posted!! Bother bother! I usually get rid of noise with the edge preserving smooth filter in Paintshop Pro or i use a program called Neat Image which someone on Caedes put me on to. I think i downloaded it for free! Oooo im so annoyed with myself! I hate having to repost the same image twice! Thankyou for the comment though :) I appreciate it as always :)

Roger - Thank you for the fave of 'Polaroid Pano'. Harkness Memorial is quite a summer 'cottage'. Restored, the house is quite nice, making a great place for special occasions such as a wedding. Thad
Drats! I had not noticed the noise in the sky on The Flat Lands until you pointed it out! Possibly the horizon does need some straightening too! How annoying and i so hate to repost! Its funny how you dont see these things when editing but they all become evident once on Caedes! Thankyou for the constructive advice as always! I was recluctant to post as i wasnt sure that it was very good but im pleased you think so.

Hello again, just reading your comment on Chimney Pots now! I wasnt sure about entering this in the contest to be honest, I tend to play to win and wasnt sure i was good enough. Having said that the best result ive had is second so im not sure i am in the league of contest winners!!! Glad you like it though. These houses are very unusual where i live in that they are made of red brick. In the city of Bath there is a local law stating that things must be built with the local yellow sandstone or clad in it to keep the whole city in keeping with the Georgian Architecture so red bricks are indeed a rarity!

Hi Roger, thanks for stopping by and commenting on The Old Pier and for the advice. I still really have no idea whether to enter this, or chimmney pots or one of the other pictures i am yet to upload! I am in a quandry :(

Hi Roger, thankyou for your highly complimentary words for the chillies picture. I cant remember whether it was a flash or not, i think it might have been but i have possibly set the contrast too high. I loved what you did with chimmney pots, it was such a subtle difference i had to go back to the one i uploaded to figure out what was different apart from the sky but it did make a world of difference. Thankyou for taking the time to show me! Always appreciative of your kindness and constructive advice!

Hi Roger, thankyou again for your work that you did on Chimney Pots and for your comment on the rework. I found it really helpful to see the difference and when i did i realised i needed to spend a bit more time on it! It didnt take me that long to clone out the wires in the end.

Thank you kindly for the commentry on New Zealand Farm Stay. I am very glad that you can enjoy the photo. I was so focused on photo editing that I did not even notice the pole to the left. I am not one for borders generally, so I try to keep them simple and less obtrusive. I am glad you like it. All the work was donee in Photo Shop (my fav program). I would love to visit California. I am a big fan of the movie Sideways, (and wine). That part of New Zealands makes greeat wines as well. Cheers.
Hi Roger, thankyou for your comment on Sculpture. I really dont normally take photos of these sorts of things. I dont really think its original to snap other peoples hard work. Although i guess i was guilty of it when i posted photos from my trip to Italy too! This sculpture was taken at Stourhead in Dorset. I really posted it as i am trying as much as possible to leave my snaps unedited. I really want to be able to take shots that dont require any post shot tweaking :)

Hi Roger, thanks for your comment on Green and Pleasant Land, i did spot some of the 'ghosts' that Wendell was talkin about but theyre were no cyclists! I was aware of the noise in the sky, i did do some smoothing to try and rid myself of it but couldnt go too far as i was losing the detail in the rest of the image. Thanks for the advice on composition, i think i need to aim lower in most of my images at present! Im afraid i cant remember what the structure is im afraid!
On the subject of Easter Weekend 2011, thankyou for being so honest about your opinion, i really appreciate the candid feedback. Wendell has also made a comment agreeing that you have posted some sub standard shots too ;)

Hi Roger, gosh i seem to be taking up your comments board with my feedback. Does no one else do this anymore? Thanks for your comment and advice on Peak District 1. I dont actually live in this area of the country just took a trip there for the weekend. I love too far south for glaciers but it is indeed a glacial landscape. I too love James Herriot but his county is the Yorkshire Dales about an hour north of where i look these pictures in Derbyshire although it does look quite similar.

Roger - Thanks for faving 'After the Rain'. While rain deficits here are nothing compared to a California summer, we had gone two months without rain and were running a serious deficit. Overnight, with over three inches, we made up half of it. The next morning, when I went outside, the air was perfectly still and water beads were hanging from everything. Of course, the camera became the first thought. With the sunlight filtered by some clouds, the reflections in the large water beads popped. Not long after shooting the photos, a light breeze moved foliage enough to shed them of the water. Fortunate timing for some lucky shots. Thad
Hi Roger, Thank you for gracious comments on "Abandoned but not forgotten" and "Remembered". I have to say on this occasion luck played a big part. Although these mausoleums in Lille cemetery are for the most part seemingly abandoned, most are still locked and so the only view is often through a grill at the front or a broken window to the side as in this case; so really it was the only viewpoint. Regards Ray.
Thanks Roger for the nice comment on my image "Scenes of Hamburg 3" and for saving the same. Glad to know that you liked it. Also thanks for adding me to your list of friends. - Raj

Wow Roger! I'm just looking at this gold star you awarded me for "Little Tiger". It sure is shiny. Hadn't had one of them in a long time. Thanks for the Fave.
Thanks much Roger for your comments & fave on "You're Grounded". I usually don't write long commentaries & I think I was more out of breath typing it than when I was out on my very long hike searching for my dogs. You mentioned you were from the Midwest (Illinois) & have relatives in the Twin Cities. My niece makes her home in Paso Robles, CA. It surely is a small world. Glad you enjoyed my image & story. Sherree
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
