Madenur Dam
Uploaded: 04/28/11 3:15 AM GMT
Madenur Dam was constructed before its mighty cousin, Linganamakki Dam was built. After the completion of the Linganamakki Dam, this dam got submerged. This dam is a engineering marvel, constructed using clay, jaggery and limestone, the dam is still intact even after almost 70 years!!
All comments are welcome. Please be critical, I love to know what I can improve

No, Prashanth this is the same camera (Olympus) with which I also took the photos of the horses in the snow. I sometimes use functions like Vibrance, vivid light etc. from Photoshop.

Hi Prashanth, thanks for your comments on "Seagull Fly-by". Glad you enjoyed it. I used the continuous shooting mode and tracked his flight to get the shot. And I looked high and low for a mermaid. Just as I was leaving and had everything packed up I saw one coming across the pond. So I hastily unpacked the camera and was able to get a few blurry shots before she disappeared under the water.:P Maybe next time. Have a great day and take care, ~Wendell.

Thank you for the complements Prashanth. The trick to this was to put the light bulb on a dimmer switch to make the filament glow red instead of being white hot. This also allowed the background to show up as something other than just black as it would with a very fast shutter speed.

Thank you for the critique and comments. Yes it is the same stream that is used for running the mill. A few meters away it is at the same altitude as the top of the wheel. It is diverted from there and routed around the building and across the top of the wheel to make it turn.
