I was talking today with someone who means an awful lot to me, and it made me sad because she told me that she's never really just sat and watched a sunset. She's never felt the urge to do it alone and has never had anyone she was close to do it with her, even though she had suggested it. She lives a few hours fom me, but I think I may just have to road trip and change that... I heavily oversaturated rework in Lightroom 2 of an early work of mine called November Sky.

I have a fair bit of night photography experience forced on me by my job, I drive taxi night shift, so often I'm only awake when it's dark so if I want to take photos, it has to be at night. :) Like anything, it's just practice (and a really good tripod.)

It does look like a golf ball sitting there. This is different lake but maybe the Eagle dropped it. I've seen him at both places. They're about 2 miles apart as the crow, make that eagle, flies. Appreciate the nice words Rich. Have a great weekend.

I had to take it dark, that was the fastest shutter speed I could get without blur. LOL. But it did give a certain dusky intensity to the buildings. :)

Thanks for the positive vibe mate, but honestly, my skills are seriously impoverished compared to many of the photographers on this website. If you take a wander thru the archived gallery of the "top shots" you'll see what I mean, those guys totally blow my mind. As to not over exposing the rest of the photo, that was easy, I over exposed the sun. lol.

Hello RIch..the part of the beach that looks like ice, is actually just where the tides come in and out, making the sandy area look so slick. I loved that look so much, and the patterns the rest of the calmer water made was soooo soothing too. It seems I take my better shots at the Ocean. The Canyons in the Southwest are very impressive to my anyway. Every rock formation has a name such as Balanced Rock, Flagpole Rock etc: etc: As the day goes by the rocks change to different shades of red, gold, pink. and the shadows are always changing the scene,
